We would like to introduce to the new knowledge-sharing platform, socialprotection.org socialprotection.org, which was officially launched on September 12 th 2015, is unbranded, aimed at facilitating South-South learning on social protection policies, particularly across middle and low

income countries. The initiative is hosted by the IPC-IG, supported by the Australian Department of

Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and developed in collaboration with a number of leading

institutions on social protection, including the Social Protection Inter-Agency Cooperation Board

(SPIAC-B), of the Development Working Group of the G20.

* A) We have noticed that your institution’s publications are only available in pdf version. Typically, socialprotection.org directs access to social protection related research using the URL of the publication. We would like to have your permission to upload your publications for inclusion on our

Publications Search database.

Alternatively, you can upload your social protection related research by accessing the Share tab and

Adding a Publication, this would preclude potential copyright infringement. Each shared publication will still be hosted on your server, meaning users will access the publication on your institutional website. socialprotection.org simply directs access to the content of partner sites.

* B) We have already included a relevant publication published by your institution, titled

_______________ on our platform. We have noted your extensive database of social protection related research and therefore invite you to include more documents on our Publications Search . You can upload your social protection related research by accessing the Share tab and Adding a

Publication.

We would like to introduce you to potential opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration:

1.

Join our platform and become a member of our social protection network of more than 400 social protection practitioners.

2.

Share your existing knowledge on social protection by accessing the Share tab and Adding a

Publication or Programme profile for inclusion on our database. Each shared publication will still be hosted on your server, meaning users will access the publication on your institutional website. socialprotection.org simply directs access to the content of partner sites.

3.

Under the Share tab you are also able to upload your latest News and Events on social protection which will appear, respectively, under the Learn and Connect tab.

4.

Increase outreach among working groups, Communities of Practice (CoPs), policy makers, academics and practitioners, dedicated to a particular interest area, by creating an Online

Community or utilizing the Discussion Forum .

5.

Contribute your expertise in social protection analysis, programmes and other relevant topics to inform the platform’s approaches and strategies. For example, contribute your definition of social protection and related terms to our Glossary .

6.

Propose a webinar to be hosted by socialprotection.org. We currently have the Child

Allowance Webinar Series underway and are anticipating commencing a Gender Webinar

Series in the near future.
