Arts & Crafts Show at Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’s

2016 Women’s Solo Performance Festival

Description: This inaugural Arts & Crafts exhibit will be held in conjunction with

BTE’s 3 rd Annual Women’s

Awards: 1 st Place – Solo show at local gallery & $125;

2 nd Place-$75; 3 rd Place - $50.

Solo Performance Festival at the Alvina Krause

Theatre. The Festival, which begins April 13, 2016 and

Digital Entry (on disc or email) $25 for up to two works. Images must be .jpeg and should be 300 ppi, ends April 17, 2016, is four days of original solo works by women artists. This festival is supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

4x6 inches (1200x1800 pixels). Images sent by email will be juried upon receipt of application and fee.

Exhibit Jurors:

Christina Bothwell studied painting at the

Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia,

MEDIA CATEGORIES

Clay - Art objects, either functional or decorative of clay, made by shaping and then firing

Drawing/Pastels - Drawings are works on paper using pencil, crayon, ink, charcoal, pastels and a variety of other marking media.

Fiber - Includes artwork from fibers such as basketry, embroidery, weaving, leather-work, tapestry and paper-making.

Metal

– Functional or sculptural metal artwork created by forging, twisting and fabricating of various metals.

Mixed Media (2D & 3D) – Two or three dimensional works that incorporate more than one type of physical material (paint, pencil, watercolor, photography, printmaking or drawing) in their production.

Painting - Creation of a still life, portrait, landscape, abstract or other image on a flat surface, such as canvas, with watercolors, oil, sticks or acrylic paint.

Photography - Process of capturing images of objects by the action of light, then printing the images by chemical or digital means onto a flat surface.

Printmaking - Prints hand-pulled by artists from traditional methods, including etching, engraving, silkscreen, stone and plate lithography, linoleum block or woodcut, produced in signed and numbered limited editions from an original image created by the artist.
