THE FRIENDS OF ARCHDEACON GRIFFITHS NEWSLETTER Who are the Friends of Archdeacon Griffiths? Diary dates Friday 22nd May Non-uniform day in aid of spring fair. The Friends of Archdeacon Griffiths are a team of enthusiastic and dedicated parents who work hard to make a difference to the school. All parents are invited to attend meetings and support in any way they can. Saturday 13th June Spring Fair – all welcome A huge thank you to all the parents who attended the recent Friends meeting. The current focus for fundraising is the playground and we are raising money to replace the bark under the play apparatus and provide a turfed area with activity boards at the front of the school. Friday 3rd July Rags for Riches bag collection Friday 10th July Sports Day @1.30pm (Friends selling refreshments) Friday 10th July School BBQ @6pm Burgers, hot dogs, licensed bar, disco & inflatables Saturday 22nd August Llyswen & Boughrood Show (Friends have a stall) Any new suggestions for fundraising are really appreciated! Ball Run We are holding a Ball Run (hopefully during the Spring Fair). Balls cost £1 and tickets will be on sale from 15th May. There will be a cash prize for 1st place. Non-uniform day – Friday 22nd May Following the success of the November non-uniform day, we are holding another on the last day of this half term. In exchange for the pupils wearing non-uniform, we would ask them to bring in an item for raffle hampers. Class 1 – Sweets and Treats Hamper Class 2 – Food Hamper (wine, crisps, nuts etc.) Class 3 – Gardening Hamper (seeds, tools, gloves, pots etc.) Class 4 – Holiday/Summer Hamper (bucket, spade, bubbles, beach toys, picnic equipment, sun cream etc.) Class 5 – Bottle Hamper (any bottles!) We don’t want parents to spend lots of money on items for the hamper. Lots of small items would be better than a few larger ones! The Spring Fair is back! On Saturday 13th June, we are holding a Spring Fair. There will be a range of stalls including: bottle stall, bric-a-brac, face painting, cake stall, books, scarves and plants. There will also be a bouncy castle and raffle. Refreshments will also be served. Assistance running the stalls would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Karen or Nicki (in the office) if you can help. We would also greatly appreciate donations of cakes, plants, bottles, bric-a-brac etc. Please can this be brought into school on Friday 12th June.
