Courage Speech
ELA
You will be awarding Amelia Peter Paul a medal at a press conference. You are to write
and deliver a speech on Amelia before giving the award.
Your speech should include and thoroughly explain the following:
 An introduction – who are you and where are we?
 What is courage?
 What did Amelia do? Use lots of details. Remember, the audience doesn’t know
what she did.
 Why is she deserving of the award?
 How is Amelia a role model for young people everywhere?
Your speech should be a minimum of 90 seconds and no longer than 3 or 4 minutes.
The rules of good oratory delivery will apply.
Please hand in a copy of your speech after you have delivered it to the class.
