Young Alumni Board The Young Alumni Board of Maryville University began its inaugural year during the 2007-2008 academic year. The Board consists of 20-30 members who meet quarterly on Maryville’s campus. We accept up to 12 new members each year; if you are selected, your term will begin with the next Young Alumni Board Meeting. Young Alumni eligible for new membership beginning June 2014 will have graduated between the years of 2007 to 2014. The goals of this premier group of young alumni will be: 1. To encourage and maintain the relationship between Young Alumni, those who have graduated in the past ten years, and the University; 2. To advocate for the needs and concerns of young alumni and foster young alumni programming; 3. To cultivate leadership and various means of support, including financial support, for the programs undertaken by the Alumni Association and the University. The expectations of Young Alumni Board members will be: 1. New members will commit to a three-year term with the Young Alumni Board, beginning with the mostupcoming Young Alumni Board General Assembly Meeting. 2. Members must be present for at least two of the four General Assembly Meetings, be it through physical presence or conference calling systems. 3. Members must actively participate in at least one sub-committee. 4. Members must speak with Maryville peers to garner feedback on concerns, questions, and activities. 5. Members must support the University with its Annual Fund. 6. Members must assist the Office of Alumni Relations and the University in planning and coordinating benefits and services for alumni, as well as alumni activities, such as Alumni Weekend. Board members will be selected based on their involvement with and support of Maryville, leadership roles undertaken in both personal and professional life, and their desire and commitment to serve in the role. New members will be notified after submitting an application and will be invited to serve on the Board prior to the next Young Alumni Board Meeting.
