Lake Holcombe/Cornell Home of KNIGHTS Cross Country Jake Ebner Head Coach Tim Sime Assistant Coach Marcus Leland Assistant Coach _________________________________________________________________________________________________ July 8, 2015 To the parents of HS and MS Cross Country Runners, I hope that you are enjoying your summer. I am very excited about this upcoming season. This season we will have a great mix of returning athlete and new athletes. Our returning athletes should prove to be great role models for our new athletes. Now is the time when your child needs to be getting active in order to prepare for the upcoming season. Being active now will help your child avoid injuries once the season begins and make the beginning of the season less painful. The amount of activity that your child needs to do depends upon their previous experience with high school athletes. Younger athletes should try to run 5-15 minutes a day, 3-4 days per week. More experienced athletes should try to run 15-30 minutes a day, 3-5 days per week. Success in middle school and high school athletics doesn’t happen by accident. It takes individuals who are dedicated to working hard and a team to come together and work towards a goal. The Knights Cross Country and Track and Field teams have a strong core group of athletes who have made our recent success in these programs possible by following this approach. Our programs will continue to get stronger with more and more athletes following this approach each year, especially in the off-season.
