Alumni League Information 2014-2015 Introduction The Alumni League is designed to recognise and reward Halls/Societies/AU Clubs who either include Alumni in their events or organise reunion events. Points are awarded for each event and nominations can be submitted at any point throughout the year. This document explains how the points are allocated for each event and how to submit the Alumni League Event form. Where Do The Points Go? For Halls, your points are added to The Hall of the Year total and go towards Alumni Hall of the Year. Hall Events examples include: pre-drinks in the common room before FND, Alumni Weekends and Alumni at your Hall Day. For Societies and AU Clubs, an award will be given to the club with the highest score at the end of the year. Society/AU Clubs Events examples include: Alumni helping at the Freshers Fair, Alumni involvement in club events/trips, reunion dinners and reunion tournaments. How The Points Are Allocated: For each Alumni event run by Halls/Societies/AU Clubs, the maximum number of points available is 15. The 15 points are distributed in the following way: Number of Alumni Involved per event (Max 5 Points) Outstanding or creative initiative that shows promise for the future (Max 5 Points) Inclusivity of the Event (Max 5 Points) The Number of Alumni involved Is the number of Alumni who attend the event. 3-5 5-10 Alumni 1 2 Points 11-15 3 16-25 4 25+ 5 Outstanding or creative initiative that shows promise for the future What type of event is it? A small pre-drinks before FND or a 3 day reunion weekend. You’ll score 1 or 2 points for small events (pre-drinks) and 4 or 5 points for bigger events (Alumni Weekends and Day events) Inclusivity of the event Is a score of how inclusive your event is towards Alumni. For instance, if your Alumni are all from the same year (a low inclusivity score) or if they span several years (a high inclusivity score). A higher score will be given for events that involve current students and Alumni. Submitting Events Please fill in the Alumni Event Form and email to AlumEmpDO@lsu.co.uk along with any other supporting information you deem necessary. All nominations will be reviewed by the Alumni and Employability Committee and you will be notified by email the points awarded to you.
