Next Meeting https://www.sheltercluster.org/Asia/Pacific/FijiTyphoonEvan2012/Pages/default.aspx AGENDA DISCUSSIONS Action Points Opening Mr Vula Shaw highlighted that he is receiving positive feedback about the Shelter Cluster Acceptance of Minutes No objections to the minutes from 11/2/13 and 12/2/13 were raised and the minutes are therefore considered accepted Update on details for ceremony on MoU signing The MoU signing ceremony between the Government of Fiji (Minister for MOLGUDH&E) and participating NGOs will be on March 1, 2013 at the Holiday Inn at 10am. Mr Vula Shaw requires the registrations and constitutions of the participating NGOs emailed to him by Friday February 22. NGOs to email their registration and constitution to MOLGUDH&E by Friday 22/2/13 to Mr Vula Shaw Who plans to do what where and when As only three NGOs were present (AFP, GNI and HFHF) the need for NGO coordination still exists, but CSN and HFHF will coordinate the transitional shelters between themselves. FRIEND, Rotary and PCN to communicate their plans and to coordinate with the other NGOs to avoid overlaps and gaps Distribution of ‘Tips to build back safer’ posters Pratarp Singh has delivered 5000 posters MOLGUDH&E and copies are available for all organisations from Mr Vula Shaw. Copies are available for all organisations from Vula Shaw Update on certification and ‘Transitional Shelter’, design and costing Shelter kit and built back safer training for NGO staff Masi Latianara from HFHF presented the draft of the design and the construction manual. And a copy was made available for CSN. Engineer still to certify design. Masi Latianara to get design certified and to share finalised design Indications from the NGOs present were that a training after the cyclone season is preferred as they are too busy implementing currently. An email to gauge the interest of all the NGOS is to be sent by Michael Gloeckle Michael Gloeckle to send email to all NGOs to gauge interest in training in April or May. Other business It was discussed that a ‘Tips to Build Back Safer’ campaign could be produced for TV. Either as commercials or as a short news story or documentary. Follow up with SPC production department was suggested. Masi to follow up with SPC Next meeting Monday 25/02/13 (MOLGUDH&E), FA House, Suva, Fiji at 3pm. Main point of business is preparation for the MoU signing ceremony and the launch of the ‘Tips to Build Back Safer’ poster as well as the ‘Transitional Shelter’ design. All are welcome, but especially NGOs, Red Cross, and Donors.
