VELAQUA: General Product Questions
Is Velaqua BPA-Free? (BPA stands for bisphenol A. BPA is an industrial chemical that has been used to make certain plastics and
resins since the 1960s. BPA is found in polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Polycarbonate plastics are often used in containers
that store food and beverages, such as water bottles.)
Designed with the health of our consumers in mind, Velaqua is BPA-Free.
What type of plastic is used to make the Velaqua system?
It is resin. Our tank is made of 100% PBA Free Resin, which exceeds American National Standards. Know you are safe with
our water.
How does Velaqua work?
The system will filter, purify, mineralize, alkalize and energize water utilizing the same process that nature has used for
billions of years. Powered only by gravity, Velaqua uses premium rare earth natural ingredients without electricity, harmful
chemicals or other artificial methods. Simply pour water in the top holding tank and watch it transform into delicious healthy water
that everyone in the family including the pet desires.
How does the Velaqua System filter my water?
The ceramic filter used in the Velaqua System is rated at 0.2 to 0.9 microns. This provides the first line of defense as it traps
contaminants, bacteria and spores from entering the system of your water. The average size of bacteria is greater than 1 micron. A
second level of filtration happens with several stages of Earth followed by a final stage of organic coconut fiber.
How does the Velaqua system energize my water?
The Velaqua water system has added natural minerals with bio-energy properties such as Tourmaline and Far-Infrared.
These properties are used to produce healthy bio-energized water in addition to our energy –infused ceramic disc containing
approximately 4000-6000 negative IONs in the ceramic disk
How does the Velaqua system turn my water into mineralized water?
The top chamber within the two chamber filter contains health giving minerals such as Tourmaline, Far-Infrared and Zeolite.
When water passes through, it absorbs the myriad of health-giving minerals contained within these three natural earth minerals.
How does the Velaqua system kill bacterial that may be found in my water?
With our award winning filter system we remove down to .02 microns of bacteria. The ceramic filter in the top of your
Velaqua pores are so small, that they block most bacteria from ever entering into the drinking water. There is also colloidal silver in
the cartridge that kills bacteria.
How does the Velaqua system transform my water into water with a PH level of 8.0 and above?
Among other minerals found in our filter, the bottom chamber contains our proprietary natural minerals to increase the
alkalinity level in your tap water as it passes through.

How does the Velaqua system provide negative ions to its water?
Ceramic Disk is infused with negative ions approx. 4,000 – 6,000
How does the Velaqua system purify my water?
The Ceramic Disc is the first line of defense filtering the water down to .02 micron of filtration. Organic Coconut Fiber
Carbon infused with Colloidal Silber provides the last water purification process in the bottom chamber before water flows out to
the storage tank and consumed. Carbon is widely used worldwide to purity water.
Velaqua generates water that is about 9.0+ pH. Should water be this alkaline?
The pH has been very carefully determined and is naturally alkaline. There is a systemic struggle in the body between
acidity and true pH balance of 7.2. Invariably acid has the upper hand in most people. Until our acidic body returns to a balanced
state, the water’s pH should remain high to help the body alkalize itself to a normal pH of 7.2 quicker. Being in acid state (lower
than7.2) may lead to many health risks and complications

How will I know if my system needs a booster?
If your alkalinity falls below 8.5 or if you simply want to maintain a high pH of 9+.
How does Velaqua water taste?
Most people agree that Velaqua tastes better than bottled water or water produced by other systems. Velaqua uses only
natural ingredients to filter purity and mineralize its water. Velaqua uses organic coconut fiber carbon, instead of charcoal, which
leaves the water with delicious, sweet, smooth taste.
How many glasses of Velaqua water should I drink every day?
Many experts recommended drinking at least half your weight in ounces of water daily.
Can I cook using Velaqua water?
Absolutely, alkaline water is recommended for all uses. Most people agree that fruits and vegetables washed in Velaqua
taste much better.
Do I need to wash the unit before I use it?
Yes, it is important to wash the bottom tank thoroughly because it will hold your purified water for consumption. Velaqua
unit is dishwasher safe.
Tips
Fully assemble the unit and fill the machine with water to purify. Let the machine fully cycle the water but DO NOT DRINK
IT. Completely dispose the water and repeat 2 additional times. You should cycle your machine at least 3 times before
drinking the water it dispenses.

What type of water can I use in the top compartment?
Almost any water will work, but we recommend the cleanest. If this is not available, use what you have. You can pour any
water you would like into the top compartment, and the Velaqua will filter it, and mineralize the water as well. Obviously, the more
filtered the water put into the Velaqua, the more filtration will occur within the Velaqua, giving you even extra filtered alkaline
mineralized drinking water.
What is the capacity of Velaqua?
The top holding tank has 1.5 gallon capacity. The bottom storage tank will hold about 2.5 gallons of clean drinking water for
consumption.
Should I fill up my top tank?
The top tank should only be filled all the way if the bottom reservoir is empty. Depending on the amount of empty space in
the bottom reservoir will determine how much water to put into the top tank.
Can the ceramic disc lose its ability to provide ions to the water?
The ceramic disk used in the Velaqua water system is infused with up to 4,000 to 6,000 Negative IONs. VelaWorld stands
behind its product and ensures its customers that the ceramic disks will not need to be replaced for the purpose of negative ion
production.
How will I know if my ceramic disk needs to be changed?
The ceramic should last the lifespan of the mineral cartridge, and will need to be freshened up periodically about every 2
months by using the CCC (Ceramic cleaning cloth) to maintain high filtration.
VELAQUA: Maintenance
How do I clean my tank?
You are able to clean your tank like any regular dish. Remove the filters from the unit and wash with light dish soap and a
NEW sponge. The water basin tank is resin and will not melt making it dishwasher safe. (Top rack recommended) This does not need
to be done on a regular basis as only pure water will be in the holding tank.
How do I clean the ceramic disk?
Cleaning the ceramic disc is as easy as freshening it up under warm water with our CCC (Ceramic Cleaning Cloth) until the
ceramic is at its original color. This depends on some key factors.

A working Ceramic Disk and Mineral Cartridge should pass a gallon of water in approximately 1 hour (if it is noticeably
slower then you may need to scrub the ceramic disc with the CCC (Ceramic Cleaning Cloth)
Note: Discoloration of the ceramic disc is normal and should not alarm you. If the ceramic disc is clogged, meaning if its taking
more than an hour (approximately) to drain 1 gallon then it is time to scrub the ceramic disc with the CCC. We recommend a full
cleaning every 2 months.

What is the useful life of the filters? How often should I change the filters?
Depending on your water quality, both the ceramic filter and mineral cartridge should be changed every 3-6 month,
depending on the source of water used, to ensure optimum results.
How often should I clean my tank?
Proper care must be used with your Living Water System. Water is the purest you put into your body. Please treat your
system with love and respect by making sure cleanliness and awareness. Your system needs very little cleaning

Expose open upper tank to as little as possible. What goes in must come out. Our system is a Living System, please treat it
as such.
How will I know if my filter needs to be changed?
Depending on the water used in your system 500 gallons and/or nearly 6 months is the best time to order a replacement
filter set. When your water tastes different than it should, or if testing more acidic than required, it is time to replace your cartridge.
Tips –


Upon arrival of the New Filter Set please soak, rinse and repeat 2 times filtering a full tank each time. The 3 rd time your
water will be ready to enjoy.
Allow old filter set to dry 1 -2 full days (in the sun if able). Place set in a Ziploc bag and mark “for Emergency use only”. If, for
any reason, water service is disrupted you may use old filter set to ensure extra safety of the water.

VELAQUA: Trouble Shooting
Why is my water filtering slowly?
Mother Nature takes time, our system does too. There are different reasons for which your Velaqua water filtration unit
may be flowing slower than expected. First, on initial installment, the ceramic disc must be scraped with CCC (Ceramic Cleaning
Cloth) that is included in the kit. This must be done only a matter of 15 or so times. Also, to ensure a good flow it is encouraged to
soak the mineral cartridge filter (cylindrical filter) completely submerged in warm water for 45-60 minutes. This, along with correct
installation, should result in a consistent flow of water. If after doing this reparation you are still not getting the flow that you

require, please repeat these steps 2-3 times in order to further prepare the filters. If after trying multiple times you are still not
receiving the flow that you require, please call distributor services so that they may help resolve the issue.
Why is water in the top tank not draining to the bottom tank?
The normal flow rate of the ceramic filter is approximately one hour per gallon. When the ceramic filter is initially used, it
may take a little longer to drain to the bottom tank, but it should not take more than 3 to 4 hours, remove the Ceramic Filter from
the top tank. Using the C.C.C.; in one direction, brush the entire surface of the ceramic filter under clean, running water. This process
will open the pores on the ceramic filter that might have been clogged during the manufacturing process.
Why is there black sediment in the water?
It is harmless and should be cleared from the cartridge before use. This is one of the proprietary substances that makes Velaqua
water so tasteful and healthy.
Why is my water testing at blue (8.0) instead?
By using the Vela approved pH drops, available online; you will be able to test the range for water. Typically the water will
start off testing a deep purple which is and extremely high (9.5), but will eventually settle at a blue color and around an 8.5 to 9.0
(still high) and should stay consistently blue for the remainder of your filter life. If you do wish to keep the extremely high alkalinity,
our booster disc will meet your necessity by keeping water near a 9.0 for the lifespan of your water.

How old is the filter/mineral cartridge?
Why my water has alkalinity dropped? I’d been almost 6 months and I’m finding the pH has dropped.
There are many factors that can influence the alkalinity of the water. One would be the amount of water that is fun through
the unit. If the unit has had near 500 gallons or more run through it, then that would have stripped the cartridge of its alkaline
producing properties, and it has reached the end of its lifespan. Another influence on alkalinity is time, as the mineral cartridge is
constantly hanging down submerged in water; the minerals are constantly enriching the water, causing them to diminish over time.
This is why we have set a 6 month timeframe on our units, as this is the estimated lifespan of the filter sets. If you have not had your
product for nearly 6 months, or have not run near 500 gallons of water through your unit and are having alkalinity issues, please call
distributor services so that they may trouble-shoot the issue.

What are the main benefits of Velumina?
