HIGHLIGHTED EXPERIENCE
TABLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK – Research Assistant



Cape Town, South Africa - September 2012 to February 2013
Field Work: Recorded behavior of 22 female baboons for research examining their behavioral reactions to the
external stressors in the environment (i.e. human interaction and proximity).
Responsible for learning and recording the identification of 50 individual baboons, as well as instructing
incoming research assistants in the study goals and field procedures.
Data Collection: Collected extensive amounts of behavioral, topographic, and weather-oriented data, entering it
later into Excel spreadsheets for future scientific analysis.
LORE LINDU NATIONAL PARK – Research Assistant

Sulawesi, Indonesia - June to July 2010 & June 2007
Found and captured a species thought to be extinct (Pygmy Tarsier); radio collared and tracked their movement
to determine their location and habitat range. Also did an entomological survey via malaise and pitfall traps.
RANOMAFANA NATIONAL PARK – Research Assistant

Madagascar, Africa – August 2006
Accompanied a group of scientists, serving as the parasitologist, collecting ectoparasites, labeling corresponding
morphometric data, and preparing samples for shipment to laboratory in Japan.


