Assessment of the impact of the Governing Board on the school during 2014-15


The Governing Board has provided support and challenge to ensure high standards in all aspects of
education have been maintained throughout school.
The regular attendance by governors at school events and in their role as link-governor for an
aspect of education or a curriculum area, has strengthened the partnership between all
stakeholders.
There is a commitment by governors, utilising their skills and expertise, to support and develop
extra-curricular activities (eg German Club, Football Coaching). The governors frequently support
and engage in the organisation at sporting festivals and tournaments.
The governors attend relevant training provided by the school, South Tyneside Council and the
Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle ensuring they keep up to date with all current developments in
school governance.
The governors encouraged and supported the school’s successful application for the Primary
Languages Gold Quality Mark.
