Call for RIKEN Genomic Sciences Research Complex(GSC) Tanabata Meeting 2014 Presenters The RIKEN GSC Tanabata Meeting will be held on July 11 (Fri) 2014 at the RIKEN Yokohama Branch, Japan. We, the Tanabata meeting committee, start the open call as follows. 1. Purpose ・ To offer an opportunity for young scientists to give research presentations. Basically poster presentation, although 2-3 selected researchers will have an opportunity for additional oral presentation. ・ To encourage the motivation and desire to conduct research by recognizing unique ideas 2. Requirements ・ In principle, must be age 35 or younger and must be involved in the types of research noted below (a or b). ・ Must be working at a Japanese research institution (any nationality) or a Japanese researcher currently studying overseas Types of Research: (a) Any invention or discovery related to the life sciences (b) Any invention or discovery that could be a future contribution to the life sciences 3. Criteria for Selection ・ Research based on a creative idea ・ Research with future potential 4. Number of Presenters to be Selected 30 people * Presentations and posters must be submitted in English. * Transportation expenses will be paid within the limits allowed by our internal regulations. 5. How to Apply (a) Application Form for the Presentation (b) A letter of nomination or a self-nomination by either post or email (c) An English abstract of the research to be presented (one A4 page, free format) Submit (a), (b), and (c) by either post or email.
