Proceedings of the 2015 AGM. Background 1. The RMP have a long and close association with HM Tower and Fortress of London. 2. CMP were based within the Tower during two World Wars and RMP assume security duties within the Tower when the Yeoman Warders are absent on duty. 3. Because of our enduring links with the Tower, RMP are offered the privilege of holding an annual Church Parade in the Chapel Royal of St Peter Ad Vincula, by kind permission of the Resident Governor. 4. This is a National event which is normally organised by RMP Association London Branch but this year is being co-ordinated by the Vice Chairman of the Association. Parade Format 5. Members, both serving and retired, wishing to attend are to report to the Yeoman Warders Club (just inside the Eastern Draw Bridge) by 1015 hrs Sunday 7 February 2016. 6. Dress is RMPA Parade Dress - beret, regimental ties, medals, blazer, grey slacks. Officers should carry furled black umbrellas. Serving soldiers to be advised by the Regimental Secretary as to their form of dress. 7. Branch Standards are invited to parade. 8. The parade forms in the rear of the Green Hackle Pipes and Drums and marches the short distance to the Chapel about 1030 hrs. All orders for the parade are to be given by the Provost Sergeant Major. Chapel Service 9. The service is conducted by the Chaplain to H M Tower, the National and RMPA London Branch Standards will be laid on the altar during the first hymn. 10. The first lesson will be read by Lt Col John Baber MBE. March Past 11. After the service the parade forms up in the rear of the band and steps off under command of the Provost Sergeant Major. If the salute is to be taken at any stage then this will be advised on the day. 12. The parade halts, advances and falls out outside the Yeoman Warders Club Luncheon 13. A hot buffet lunch will be available in the Yeoman Warders Club by kind permission of the Chief Warder. 14. Pre-booking for the luncheon is to be done through Mr Bob Eggelton, Vice Chairman RMP Association at £13 per head. Application for spaces (which is limited to 55 places) must be with the Vice Chairman by 2400 hrs, 31st January 2016. Serving units may wish to liaise directly with the Regimental Secretary but the deadline will still apply. 15. Cheques should be made payable to “RMP Association” and forwarded to Mr R Eggelton, 3 Blakesley Lane, Portsmouth, Hants PO3 5UG. There will be no facilities to pay on the day and the lunch is strictly a pre-paid event. Again, serving units may wish to liaise with the Regimental Secretary with regard to payment. Travel 16. There is no parking available within the Tower, however, on-street parking is available on Tower Hill. 17. The nearest Tube Station is Tower Hill on the District/Circle Line. 18. The nearest hotel is the Thistle Tower in St Katherine's Dock. There is a Travel Lodge 100 mtrs from the Tower Hill Tube Station. Conclusion 19. This is a family event and the Tower is open to visitors after the service. It is pointed out that you may attend the parade and service and not take part in the prearranged lunch. 20.
