ExpreS2ion Biotechnologies ApS was founded in 2009 in order to commercialize a protein expression
platform based on virus free expression in Drosophila S2 insect cells. Over the last three years
ExpreS2ion has established a strong position in the field of protein production for vaccines and R&D
needs, and our expertise is recognised amongst the top vaccine developers in academia and industry.
The Company is now looking to expand its team with a downstream development scientist.
The position entails hands-on development of consistent and robust protein purification processes
for proteins produced using Drosophila S2 insect cells. The process development will be captured in
standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the scientist will form part of the team transferring the
processes to a contract manufacturer for production of drug product and drug substance according
to GMP. Furthermore, routine protein purification for client projects in mg-scales will be performed
on an on-going basis. This position will include setting up the downstream lab and purchasing needed
equipment. A downstream technician will be hired in consultation with the candidate who accepts
the position.
The profile of the candidate can only be loosely sketched out as the right candidate may come with a
variety of backgrounds. We imagine, however, that a combination of many of the below features
would be an advantage:









Ph.D. degree in a life science discipline
Experience with Äkta purification systems and Unicorn software are critical to this position
Experience with purification from animal or insect cell culture would be a distinct advantage
Experience from downstream development departments, e.g. biotech, Pharma, contract
manufacturer or contract research organisations
Knowledge or experience with GMP as well as with writing SOPs
Experience with process transfer
Team player
Fluency in English
Well organised, self-starter
