Welcome to the Integrated Pathology Building The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, striving continuously to improve patient experience and outcome. JWC/Communications/Apr 2013 Welcome Dr Helen Jones, Clinical Director; Graham Danks, Pathology Services Manager, and the senior team would like to take the opportunity to welcome you not only to the Integrated Pathology Building but to The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Pathology Department. To take Pathology into the 21st Century, the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust has invested £15 million - of Trust capital finance - in the development of an Integrated Pathology Service, starting with a brand new, architect designed, purpose built building through to the most technologically advanced pathology equipment, which became operational in the middle of April 2013. This development builds on a 20 year history of a fully nationally accredited pathology service – by the Clinical Pathology Accreditation (UK) Limited (CPA) – with all disciplines having full accreditation at all times. The laboratories, and individual disciplines, are medically led providing requesting clinicians with high quality diagnostic services and access to clinical expertise and advice supporting diagnosis and management of individual patients. The purpose of this document is to provide you with information that will be useful to you in your first few weeks in the building. All suggestions on how this document can be improved upon are most welcome and should be addressed to Graham.
