18th Annual Litter Roundup
LITTER is an important issue and a cleaner, healthier community starts with you putting waste in its place! The
waste tossed on the ground can be blown by the wind and can move from streets and highways to parks and
rivers, contaminating our waterways and environment. Show your community pride and put waste in its place.
WHAT IS LITTER ROUNDUP? It is a program committed to litter prevention and creating awareness of proper
waste management.
BENEFITS OF LITTER ROUNDUP: Local individuals, groups and organizations are given an opportunity to be of
service to Henry County. Participating organizations receiving sponsorship can earn $4 per bag of litter up to
$100. This is also an opportunity for community service projects or a rewarding family experience.
HOW TO VOLUNTEER: Return the completed form below by March 31, 2015 to register.
 Sign up for one or more miles of county or township roads. Roads are on a “first come, first serve”
basis. Be sure to sign up early to reserve the roads you want!
 Litter kits will be assembled and available for pick up at either the Henry County Solid Waste / Landfill
Office or at the Commissioner’s Office. Kits will include a map with assigned road(s), safety rules and
waiver form, gloves and litter bags.
 Litter collection runs from April 1, 2015 to April 30, 2015.
 Return collected waste to the Henry County Solid Waste / Landfill Office along with maps and waiver
forms during the hours of 8:00-3:30 Monday-Friday and 8:00-11:00 Saturday.
 A bonus of $20 will be awarded to the top three teams for following the guidelines for separating
recyclables properly.
