Overview:
This department is interested in teaching three specializations from the basic medical sciences
which covers Anatomy and Embryology , Physiology and Pharmacology. This department was
established four year ago since the early beginning of the faculty of medicine. The number of the
staff members at the early beginning of the establishment of faculty was five .
However, the number of the staff members has recently reached 22 person which is divided
between 16 staff members in the men departments and 6 in the woman department.

Achievements of the department:
1- Teaching courses in the faculty medical science.
2- Publishing a number of research whether they be funded or not.
3- The rector of the university honored the college last year because two students of the
department achieved the second place in the progressive tests.
Committees of the department:
The staff members participates in a number of 9 committees for the courses being taught for the
students. These committees as follows:
1- Introduction to Human Body Course.
2- Foundations of therapy course
3- Muscular and musculoskeletal system course>
4- Body fluids and electrolytes device course
5- The circulatory system and respiratory course
6- Gastrointestinal decision course
7- endocrine and reproduction course
8- the nervous system.
9- Introduction Anatomy Photogrammetry and surface anatomy course.
The staff members participated in the committee concerned with course and curriculum design in
the college and at the preparatory year.
The staff members participates in the committee of laboratory equipment.
Some staff members supervises other units such as quality unit, electronic education unit , and
academic advising unit.
