M1 Integers Objective - 7Ni1 - Recognize negative and positive numbers as positions on a number line, and order, add and subtract positive and negative integers in context (situations). Learner objective:- Students will be able to use a number line to compare the values of integers. Students will be able to order decimals from least to greatest. Negative integers are valued less than zero, and are always to the left of zero. When comparing integers remember the closer a negative integer is to zero the larger it is. -5 -3 0 3 5 -3 is closer to 0 than -5, therefore -3 is the larger integer. -5 is further left from 0 than -3 therefore -5 is smaller Positive integers are valued more than zero, and are always to the right of zero. When comparing integers remember the further a positive integer is from zero the larger it is. (Or the closer the positive integer is to zero the smaller it is.) 5 is further right from 0 than 3 therefore 5 is larger. -5 is further left from 0 than -3 therefore -5 is smaller Learner objective: - Students will be able to compare order and calculate temperatures using a number line.
