Healing Waters-Fly Fishing NEWS RELEASE 2/19/2015 PEDALS & PADDLES, formerly known as Recycle Your Cycle is now an activity under Bike Walk Helena and the Montana Healing Waters Project-Fly Fishing. The open sale is scheduled Saturday, April 25 from 9:00 am- 2:00 pm at the Fairgrounds in the Entrance Hall of the Main Exhibition Hall. Items can be donated or consigned and will be accepted only on Friday evening, April 24 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Items not sold the day of the sale can be picked from 2:00 pm -3:00 pm the day of the sale. Pedals & Paddles will retain 15% of sale price for consigned items. We are also accepting JUNK bicycles to be used in the creation of a public art sculpture, a project of Helena Tourism Alliance. This is an opportunity to purchase used bicycles, bicycle parts, clothing and accessories as well as donated fly fishing equipment. Some used fishing boats will also be sold. Some of the bikes consigned were very high end. Last year the Recycle Your Cycle saw many families selling smaller bicycles and buying bigger bicycles. Other activities are planned: Bike Rodeo from 11:00 am-Noon; Free bicycle registration by the Helena Police Department and Free bicycle safety checks. Big Sky Cyclery and The Helena Bicycle Club will be represented as well as others. BikeWalk Helena works to highlight existing cycling and pedestrian infrastructure, educate travelers, promote biking and walking, and build momentum toward enhancing biking and walking opportunities in Helena. Other activities include Safe Routes to School, Bike Rodeos/Bookmobile events, and Commuter Challenge Montana Project Healing Waters is devoted to the physical and emotion well-being of veterans through fly tying, fly-fishing and outings.
