POSITION TITLE Instructional Technology Specialist COMPENSATION $XXXX ROLE SUMMARY Instructional Technology Specialists work on their campus to build teacher capacity in the use of technology as an instructional tool to enhance student learning and engagement. The Instructional Technology Specialist will be a key leader in training and supporting colleagues to successfully integrate technology into their instruction. Note: The primary focus of this role is to support and train colleagues to use instructional technology in the classroom to differentiate instruction, not to serve as a technology troubleshooter or technician. Teachers filling this role may be assigned to support a particular content area, grade level, or group of teachers according to the principal’s discretion, school-level (e.g., elementary, middle, high school), and teacher/student needs. Term may be extended pending a review of school needs and the teacher leader’s success in the role after the first year. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be Exemplary according to the latest end of year teacher evaluation rating. SELECTION CRITERIA Expertise in the application of instructional technology tools and techniques for a variety of classroom settings and content areas. Ability to effectively model the use of instructional technology. Ability to collaborate with other staff members. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills (both oral and written). Strong presentation skills. Ability to train other adults and facilitate training sessions. Self-starter motivated to learn new skills and technological tools for instruction.
