At New Heights Charter School we are celebrating our 9th year of operation by asking members of the community to come join us in supporting our students’ learning. New Heights is a public charter school and a non-profit organization. Our school serves low-income African-American and Latino students in South Los Angeles – over 60% of our families live below the poverty line and 98% qualify for the free lunch program. New Heights prepares students to use their minds well and become capable, caring citizens. Family Math Night Share Your Time with Us Adopt a Classroom. Choose one day a month to volunteer for two hours in one of our classrooms to work with small groups of students. Mentor a Student. Choose one day a week (or twice a month) to work one-on-one with a student in need of academic support. ENRICH OUR TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES. We currently have iPads for classrooms to share and we need 60 more to ensure all students have access! Donate a used iPad or help us buy a new one.
