If you have any questions around completing your Registration of Interest, please email ECE_Approved_Programmes@msd.govt.nz Note Providers with a programme delivered in many locations only need to complete one registration of interest form. Initial Checklist Providers with programmes, which are required by the Ministry of Education to be licensed or certificated CANNOT apply to become approved parenting and early childhood home education programmes. Please respond YES or NO to the following questions: Is your programme focused on educational outcomes for children? Is your programme delivered to parents/caregivers of child/ren in their home? Is your programme for children from the ages of 3-5 (or 6 if not yet in school)? If you answered yes to all these questions then please complete sections A and B and return this form in one of the ways outlined above. If you answered ‘no’ to any of these questions then you may not be eligible to become an approved parenting and early childhood home education programme. You should provide evidence to support this, for example, through an internal peer reviewed evaluation, independent evaluation of the programme or any other supporting material e.g. feedback from parents/caregivers etc. Attach evidence here PROGRAMME IS SUPERVISED AND HAS SPECIFIC LEARNING OUTCOMES How often are parents/caregivers who are delivering the programme to their children visited? Provide details of how parents/caregivers who are delivering the programme to their children are provided with on-going support to deliver the programme effectively. (For example, this might include regular visits, follow up phone calls and text messages etc.) How does your programme provide adequate supervision of employees/contractors/volunteers who visit these parents/caregivers? (For example, this might include training, regular check-ins by the programme provider, etc.) How is the child’s progress and participation recorded and monitored? (For example, this might include having an attendance register, requiring the parents/caregivers to provide reports to the programme provider and vice versa etc.) Describe how your programme is delivered; outlining the planned framework you have in place for the regular delivery of the components of your programme. For example, a curriculum, learning programme agreed between the programme provider and parent/caregiver etc. Where you can, provide examples of learning modules or plans. Attach evidence here PROGRAMME IS ALIGNED WITH GOVERNMENT PRIORITIES RELATING TO ECE AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN Does your programme support children to move into ECE and how does it do this? What policies do you have in place relating to the prevention, identification and reporting of child abuse and neglect and how are these policies implemented? What policies and procedures do you have in place to ensure that children are not placed at risk through the delivery of the programme? (This must include Police checks of employees/contractors/volunteers who visit parents/caregivers and are in contact with children). Part C: Declaration If your programme becomes an approved programme it is your responsibility to immediately inform the Ministry of any changes which could affect your approval status. If you have included information from programme participants it is your responsibility to obtain their consent to share this with MSD as part of the approvals process.
