Alumni Relations Manager, Belk College of Business Position Description Primary Purpose and Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies, programs and processes to increase alumni engagement with the college. Work with constituents in regional, national and international segments. Participate in and support signature events to support the college's external relations plan and development efforts. Serve as liaison to Alumni Advisory Council. Cultivate relationships in key alumni segments that result in increased financial support for the college. Manage alumni communications channels for the college. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited university. Strong preference for an individual with previous alumni affairs and/or development experience at an educational institution. Demonstrated experience in relationshipbuilding, database analysis, written communications, event planning, presentation skills. Familiarity with Charlotte business and philanthropic communities a plus. Specific Duties: Conduct research (e.g. data analysis, surveys, focus groups) to identify key alumni subgroups and to develop strategies to increase alumni engagement with the college and serve alumni needs. Develop strategies and programs that provide alumni with networking, educational, and professional development opportunities. Working with the Student Center for Professional Development staff, explore ways for alumni to connect with students through class speakers, internships and placement. In collaboration with the Director of Development and support from University Advancement, identify and cultivate alumni segments that have the potential to make an annual leadership gift, and support the needs of donors at other giving levels. Support the annual fund and telefundraising campaign operations to maximize return for the college and departments as appropriate. Maintain current information in the university’s Banner database of college alumni, including home and work contact information and notes on personal contact activity. Identify and cultivate alumni who may serve on the Alumni Advisory Council, ensuring broad representation of the alumni demographics. Primary responsibility for the council and related activities. Collaborate with University Alumni Affairs, academic departments, program directors, and student organizations to increase alumni engagement. Plan and execute events that serve the needs of the alumni base and support the mission of the college. Coordinate plans to engage new alumni, including post-commencement receptions. Manage the college’s LinkedIn group and maintain content for the college’s alumni web pages. Contribute story ideas and content for the college alumni magazine, e-newsletter, website and social media portals to promote alumni engagement.
