MILLENNIUMS MAGICAL CHRISTMAS SHOW
HERE AND NOW (1:40) Key: A flat (bup)
Jessica: Millennium Magic Chorus a cappella chorus affiliated with Sweet Adelines
International. We sing a wide variety of a capella music but our roots are singing arrangements
in the four part barbershop style. There are over 24,000 women in Sweet Adelines worldwide
belonging to choruses’ with 15 to 180 members. There are over 350 small choruses throughout
the world. We were founded in the year 2000 and since then have come in first place in our
small chorus division every year we competed regionally. We have also won the gold medal
internationally twice, last in 2009 at our competition in Nashville, Tennessee and are hoping to
make it to one of the coming internationals in Las Vegas!
But enough about us, we'd like to take this time to enjoy a little bit of music with all of you! We’d
also like to welcome some guests, Kirsten (church Pastor) and Karen who will be joining us for
some of our Christmas songs today!

Anne: On dec 24 1818, the curator of a parish in Austria gave a call to his friend Franz Gruber

Beth: Long ago the morning stars gathered on the shores of a quiet silver lake bordered with
majestic Blue Mountains…...the most beautiful place on earth. There they sang their songs of
joy and pledged to gather there each turn of the millennium.
Jess: Once when the stars had gathered in song, a great rock broke free from the mountain
wall and the lake waters began to pour out and rush to the sea. The stars frantically searched
for a new place to gather and finally agreed upon a lovely valley through which a winding river
ran. As their harmony echoed through the valley, the stars suddenly realized that this had once
been the Bed/water of their beautiful lake.
Anne: The stars were so joyous that they took the brightest jewels from their crowns and placed
them in the river where they still sparkle and shine with their magic. Ever since that day, the
river has been called, Shenandoah, daughter of the stars.
