About the Coalition “The Homecoming Coalition exists to unify the UK Community through programmatic efforts, bringing forward a celebration of tradition, spirit, and university values.” Liaison Program The University of Kentucky’s Homecoming Coalition was formed in February 2010 and has since worked to better coordinate many organizations’ individual programming into one cohesive Homecoming Schedule. The Homecoming Coalition is made up of representatives from several on campus student organizations; including the Student Activities Board, the Black Student Union, the Center for Community Outreach, Dance Blue, UK Student Government, Students Today Alumni Tomorrow, TEAM WILDCAT, and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. All of these organizations work together to coordinate a week long schedule of events including (but not limited to); Dance Blue 5K, Paint the Town Blue, Homecoming Pep Rally/Parade, Mo Xavia Gantz Betta Basketball Game, Mr. and Miss Black UK, Mic Check, and Step Show. This is a great leadership opportunity, amongst one of the greatest traditions at UK. We are seeking highly motivated students with a high level of independence and a passion for increasing student and organizational involvement in homecoming. Time Commitment: 2 hours a week Responsibilities: Attend Homecoming Coalition Liaison Training Retreat (2 hours) Date—TBD Log one office hour per week in the CCO – available for organizations if they have questions Assist the Coalition in raising awareness and tabling events around campus during events such as, K-Week, Student Involvement Fair, and Coalition independent pubbing events Attend organizations meetings assigned by coordinators and encourage their organization to participate in and get involved with homecoming events Know the Homecoming Rulebook and event details thoroughly to act as a source for information prior to Homecoming Week Be available to serve as organizations Point of Contact during the Week of Homecoming Must be flexible with schedule and timely to events Must attend all events during Homecoming Week---times and specifics subject to coordinators Please see the following paper and fill out the necessary information to apply for this position.
