Just for Fun!
Come play with us! We will be using glass and canvas to create these wonderful three
dimensional compositions. We will be working on a 9 X 12" canvas that we will pre-paint for
you to save time. We did these backgrounds with an acrylic finger-painting technique. We
added glass and other found items, and created a hi-gloss finish that stabilizes your artwork
and looks like glass.
You will do the artwork by gluing your items onto the canvas, and we encourage you to bring
any found items, buttons, jewelry, pebbles, beads, shells, coins, trinkets, etc, as
embelishments. See the eyes! Yes, buttons.
We are including the pre-painted canvas, scrap glass, wiggles, beads, frit, glass
globs, instruction, and we will pour your hi-gloss material after your glue dries. The project
can be picked up the following Saturday. These projects were chosen so you will become
familiar with the process, and have the confidence to do more works at home.
And, we are currently working on some Holiday projects, just in time for Thanksgiving and
Christmas.

Serious fusers are always looking to add
techniques to their repertoire. Learning the
science behind chemical reactions and how to
reliably incorporate them into your work will be
the focus of this class. Melissa will guide you on
the journey by teaching you how to create small
sample sheets that inform and increase your
fusing pallet. You will learn methods to use silver
foil and copper leaf with various glass
combinations to create three 3" square test
samples. The method here is important, and the
goal is for you to learn to quickly and easily
create samples at home using many other color
combinations. And believe us, there are a lot of
them. Melissa will share 10 of her favorite
recipes with you! All materials and firing included.

Create a 8 x 12" birch tree scene on a dark background and

learn a couple techniques for coloring the trunks and the
background to acquire the illusion of depth. These panels
are not quite full fused so as to keep their texture! They
may be displayed on a table or plate stand. This project is
so cool that some people are doing it more than once!

During this class, you will make an 8 x
8" glass on wood frame project. The
goal for this class is to make you familiar
with creating depth with dimensional
objects. We will be supplying a flower
pot design and enough scrap glass to
finish your project, including specialty
Van Gogh glass for your
background. This intermediate class
will expose you to a few new techniques
that allow for three dimensional objects
and quick assembly. Most materials
provided, including the frame. Previous
mosaic experience and cutting skills
required. This project cannot be finished
in a few hours so we will do the 2
dimensional and grouting work in the
morning, you will have an hour to go get
lunch, and then you will return to apply your three dimensional objects. We highly recommend
you bring in some of those old pins, broaches, large beads, etc, that you can incorporate into
your design. Go thru your old jewelry, and all those junk drawers to gather up "found objects"
for your mosaic creation. If you have a specific color scheme in mind, please plan and/or
purchase ahead of time.

C R E DI T C AR D I NFO RM ATI O N
I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate all of you that have been paying with
cash or check. Those of you that are in business for yourselves know that the credit card
industry is changing out their cards to accept chip security protection, As a result,
small businesses like us are having to purchase really expensive machines, pay insurance
and compliance fees, access fees, and also the swipe fees and percentage charges for every
card, including debit cards.
The burden for small businesses is very high, in comparison to the larger, high volume big box
retailers. Many of the larger retailers are just raising their prices, sometimes up to 5%, in
order to mitigate all the fees.
Any time you pay with cash or check, you help us hold pricing at current margin levels. Don't
worry, for your convenience, we will continue to accept cards, but hope that you will think of us
ahead of time. The more we reduce our merchant service fees, the longer we can hold
prices. Thanks!
