1. Bro. Curt Inman started the meeting addressing how good the weekend has been and how
much sleep we didn’t get.
2. Bro. Orlando Ager introduced Bro. Al Barnes
3. Bro. Al Barnes spoke of how good the comradeship and brotherhood was with Psi Mu.
Old Business
Bro. Rob Barren opened the room with Morning Prayer.
Bro. Curt Inman spoke of how good it is to have a visiting Brother from RHO Chapter and as a chapter
we’re going in the right direction. He talked about the alumni initiatives that the chapter agreed to last
homecoming. The initiatives set the course for the Chapter to follow during the year and they lead us to
a very successful homecoming this year. 2014 initiatives were as follows: 1) Purchase a Chapter tent for
display at future fraternity events. 2) Donate to the Willie Fleming scholarship fund. 3) Purchase a
Chapter T-Shirts to commemorate the Chapter’s 30th year anniversary. 4) Publish a Chapter newsletter
to keep brothers informed and lastly, 5) Conduct homecoming activities.
Bro. Mike Fairley spoke how great the event was that the chancellor came out to support the event.
And to make sure that we are heading in the right direction.
Bro. Curt Inman spoke of putting together a Chapter newsletter following the 30 year chapter and
charter anniversary. Also discusses was the potential for a 2015 Spring Psi Mu retreat. (Tentative May
2015)
New Business
Recommendations for initiatives for the 2015 year.
1. Retreat-Motion was suggested to continue the Psi Mu retreat in the spring of 2015. Motion Passed
Bro Rob Barren spoke about putting together a committee to start the planning process and to have a
platform to plan. Bro. Pierre Banks, Bro. Maurice Smith, Bro. Keith Jackson have volunteered to be a part
of the committee for Psi Mu retreat 2015. Bro. Mike Fairley, suggested having a past committee chair on
the committee so that the transition can turnover smoothly.
2. Scholarship for 2015-Bro. Mike Fairley started out by discussing it should be something that will be
done every year. Bro. Alonzo Upshur stated the scholarship should be going to the kids of the brothers
in the chapter. If a representative is not identified the scholarship will roll over. Brothers nominate Bro.
John Jones, Bro. Mike Fairley, and Bro. Alonzo Upshur to committee. Bro. John Jones nominated as
committee chair.
Bro. Orlando Ager made a motion to continue with the scholarship initiative: Motion Passed.
3. Chapter History points of contact list have been updated and having a historian appointed to continue
with chapter history. Motion was made to continue chapter history and to have a souvenir book made
by next homecoming and to sell. Motion passed. Point of contacts will be on committee. Bro. Donnell
Williams will be committee chair.
4. Hard Rock 10 35th anniversary will be in 2015 and 30 year anniversary for 85 line. Suggested that the
individual line be responsible for their celebration. I thought there was a motion for the Chapter to
recognize the Hard Rock 10’s 35 Anniversary in 2015 (only) because of they started it all and then for
lines after the Hard Rock 10 30 years will be the benchmark and each line will be responsible for
celebrating their anniversary. Motion passed
5. Alumni initiative-$100 per brother a year. Discussion of how to collect the monies from every line.
Suggesting to have the deadline of the end of the first quarter (December 31, 2014) to have all monies in
from each line so that the Chapter will have funds at the beginning of the year to pay for expenses and
conduct operations.
6. Request for Future-New Roll call T-shirts:
Motion was put on the table for a roll call shirt for 2015. Motion passed. Bro. Maury Williams, Bro. Brian
Kimball, Bro Kelvin Ward, Bro Orlando Ager, Bro. Mike Fairley, Bro. Pierre Banks and Bro. Cliff Reid
placed on the committee.
