Approval of Minutes from September 10, 2013

Guest Speaker- Cheryl Stuart, Director of Career Services o Encourage others to make use of our services. We have had Career Fairs Tuesday and Wednesday of this week; it appears students like these very much. o Student Employment services: Last Spring, there were proposed changes. These were not adopted. This year, the university has not implemented any changes in terms of maximum work hours. These were being considered because of the Affordable Care Act (would classify students as part time Employees at the University). o Less than 40 students have exercised maximum work hours during the week currently. o Maximum work hours same for Work-Study Resources.

Committee Reports o Sukhman: Sat on Building and Grounds- Discussed Salt Barn, Pedestrian Bridge o Rachel: VP for HR- 5 candidates will come to University in late September/October; VP for Enrollment: just getting started with interviews o Undergraduate Academic Policy Committee: New IT Committee structure- please look at this and send feedback to

Kyle. Also requests input on Hybrid Classes. o University Petitions Committee- If you do fill out petition, make sure have all proper paperwork (evidence for proof)

Public Forum o Ryan: Board of Trustees Committee is from 8:30- after lunch on Friday. Student Affairs at 9:45 AM-10:45 AM.

Board of Trustees is the official governing body of the University (all appointed- voluntary)

Rowdy Bobblehead Award: JB to Fady (Doing a lot of great stuff! A lot of constituents, great foot forward always!)

Old Business o Resolution 13-23: A Resolution to Modify the Number of Signatures to Run for a Student Government Position,

Resolution 13-23 has been approved. o Resolution 13-29: Resolution to Lower Tuition for Armed Forces Members who are using the Armed Forces Tuition

Assistance Program, Presented by Anthony Hinojosa

Active Duty have to pay $136 for each credit hour

1,300 active duty using program from Wright Patt. 35 go WSU. With the approval, would give WSU the extra hand to recruit and increase Active Duty members here.

SOC- Active Duty members can choose a home school (WSU), guaranteed to get 25% of the degree at home school.

If Senate does not approve proposed SOBC budget, President can resubmit last year’s proposal with only change being an increase in wages due to inflation.
