Summary The book Theodore Boone the Accused is written by John Grisham. The story takes place in a town called Strattenburg, in the court house, in Theo’s middle school, and his house. The conflict is a man vs. man because somebody robbed a person’s store. Imagine going to a court to watch a murder trial, and the next day the police come to your school and begin asking you questions about a break in at the electronic store where $20,000 of goods were stolen. Well that happened to an 8th grade boy named Theodore Boone. He is a brown haired boy who is frequently picked on by kids from school. Theo was accused by the police when they found 3 of the 10 missing tablets in his locker. Somebody had broken in to his locker. Theo knew he was not guilty but, the police detective Officer Vorman who is an older man did not believe he was innocent. Theo’s friend Baxter a kid who is strong and fights repeatedly told him that his sister who is in tenth grade had over heard someone selling a tablet for an extremely low price. They thought that it was suspicious. Theo then told Officer Vorman hoping he would then find the real burglars. The police discovered Jessie and Jonah Finn stole the merchandise based on the lead. They admitted they tried to frame Theo for stealing the missing tablets. The two brothers explained why they needed the money as their parents were getting divorced. Theo walked away a free man and didn’t get in trouble for robbing the electronic store. Recommendation I recommend this book to everyone who likes mystery. I think the plot of the story is good because it always keeps you wondering what will happen next. I also recommend this book to kids in middle school or 6th grade because that’s how old Theo the main character is in the book. Theo’s life is believable because he has the lockers similar to most middle school and the kids have modern items some of us might have like tablets and touch screen phones. We can all relate to the setting such as this book. If you are looking for a book that will make you want to keep reading, this is the book for you. It is filled with cliff hangers making you wonder what will happen next to Theo. After reading this book I would rate this book a five out of five! This book is the third book in the John Grisham series. The first book is Theodore Boone Kid Lawyer, the second book is Theodore Boone The Abduction Followed by Theodore Boone The Accused. It would make sense to read them in order to get to understand the characters best. What will happen next? Hopefully John Grisham will tell us more about Theodore Boone and his adventures in a possible fourth book to come! Book Cover By: Jared Epstein Genre: Mystery
