Just 3 miles from Pinewood is Folly
Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, with
fun for all the family. New for 2013, Penguin Coast, a state-of-the-art
saltwater enclosure that allows you to view the penguins from
underwater.
Blue Lagoon Water Park, Pembrokeshire’s premier undercover water
park, is a pleasant 20 minute drive away from Pinewood. Giant wave mavhines,
rapids river rides, water flumes and much, much more provide fun, thrills and
aqua excitement for all.
Oakwood Theme Park, with over 30 thrilling attractions for all ages is 7
Miles from Pinewood. Open from 10am to 10pm during July and August with
after dark rides, entertainment and firework displays.
Just outside Tenby there is the Dinosaur Park with over 30 dinos set along a woodland trail. On the Tenby to St
Florence road you will find the action adventure playground of Hetherton, with its zip wires, treetops adventure trail
and Sky Tower. In the same area there is manor House Wildlife Park, Anna Ryder-Richardson’s Welsh Zoo where you
can expect a real hands-on experience in four Zoonique Animal Walkthroughs.
For our guests seeking a historical and cultural experience, we have 7 magnificent castles, each within a 15 mile drive
of Pinewood. Laugharne to the east, Manorbier, Pembroke and the lovely Carew to the west; Llawhaden, Picton and
Haverfordwest to the north. Besides this there is the Tudor Merchant’s House in Tenby, The Bishop’s Palace at
Lamphey and the serene experience of Caldy Island with its monastery, Old Priory and ancient churches is just a
short boat ride from Tenby.

garden lovers we have the National Trust’s Colby Woodland Garden right on our doorstep. This is a short 3 minute
drive or a very pleasant 30 minute stroll along the Coastal Footpath. Upton Castle Gardens, near Carew, consists of
35 acres of listed historic gardens, along with a medieval chapel. Picton Castle Gardens are a delight and make a
splendid day out when combined with a tour of the castle.
Beauty & the Beach:
For many of our visitors, the beach is the place to be and we have some of the finest and most diverse anywhere in
Europe. In fact, National Geographic Magazine voted Pembrokeshire as being in the TOP TEN of coastal destinations
in the WORLD in 2013! What an accolade.
A short 5 minute walk away from Pinewood and you will arrive at the south facing Wiseman’s Bridge beach, a
perfect mix of sand, stone and fascinating rock pools. Something for everyone. We have a small selection of fishing
nets, buckets and spades and body boards for our guests to borrow.
A 20 minute walk, or 5 minute drive to the east is Amroth beach, with almost a mile of golden sand. A 20 minute
walk to the west, or again a 5 minute drive, are the family friendly sandy havens of Coppet Sands and Saundersfoot.
Slightly further away is Tenby North Beach, overlooking the attractive harbour and Carmarthen bay and just around
the corner is Tenby South Beach, where at low tide, acres upon acres of golden sands are revealed. A pleasant car
ride or bus journey along the South Pembrokeshie Coast and you will find the glorious beaches at Manorbier,
Freshwater East, the stunning Barafundle Bay, and just beyond the idyllic Broad Haven South.
