TRANSITIONS “Walls” February 9, 2014 What do you do when you hit the wall? (Joshua 2, 6) 3 “Elephants” in the Passage: God accomplished His will through a prostitute. (Joshua 2) God blessed a lie. (Joshua 2:4-6) God commanded destruction. (Joshua 6:21) 3 Breakthrough Principles: 1. Never confuse God’s delay with weakness or approval. “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” Galatians 6:7 (NIV) “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:8, 9 (NIV) 2. Make sure the wall you’re hitting wasn’t put there by God. “Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, "Are you for us or for our enemies?" "Neither," he replied, "but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." Joshua 5:13, 14 (NIV) 3. God is powerful. “Jesus said to them, "My Father never stops working, and so I keep working, too." John 5:17 (NCV)
