Heritage Wealth Heritage wealth is the marketing company for: The top of the market investment team of Robert Skepper at Charles Stanley, a leading London asset manager and second largest brokerage and investment House in the U.K. with 26 offices nationwide. Charles Stanley PLC is quoted on the London Stock Exchange main market. The top of the market property expertise of Richard Leetham and his team for London and country house property in the U.K. The speciality equine services of Jane Skepper and her team at the Heritage Coast Stud for all performance horse activities from Showjumping, Eventing, Dressage, and Endurance riding. Investment management The investment management team is headed by Robert Skepper, Chartered fellow of the Chartered institute of Securities and Investment. He is also a director of IVM Asia, an Asian fund management group run out of HONG KONG. He has managed funds for families for more than 25 years. This is carried out through Charles Stanley, (previously he was with Brewin Dolphin), where he is a senior associate. He is assisted by William Bancroft, who is a qualified investment manager and has been in the business for six years, after a successful career in the army, having passed out of Sandhurst with the second top honour, and the full back up of the highly regarded Charles Stanley research and Investment department. Poppy Skepper, aged 26 has now joined the team. She is a qualified chartered accountant. Also a qualified ski instructor, and a keen rider and show jumper. After coming down from St Andrews, where she graduated in mathematics and business studies, she won the post of a graduate trainee in the Head Office finance department of J Heinz. After successfully completing a year there she was offered the job of assistant to the finance director of one of their leading manufacturing plants. She stayed for a further 18 months after which H.J.Heinz was acquired by the legendary Warren Buffet`s interests in the U.S. and that factory was closed, and her team there disbanded. We also have secured the advisory services of Mervyn Douglas, aged 40, who has been a very successful institutional fund manager, initially trained by First State in Edinburgh, then he managed funds at Legal and General. Most recently he was with Aviva managing up to £1billion of assets there. Apart from his excellent portfolio management skills, he brings extra institutional expertise in dealing in large portfolios. Robert Skepper`s book "A decade of stockmarket turmoil" outlines his strong belief that the simple "long only" quality company investment approach has stood the test of time best, and overcome everything that volatile and perverse stockmarkets can throw at it. That included the bursting of the Tech bubble of 2000, the invasion of Iraq and the recession of 2003, and then in 2008 the almost complete collapse of the Western financial system. All other strategies have sooner or later come to grief, culminating in the notorious Hedge fund scam of Madoff. He ended in jail, but that did not help his clients get back the $50 billion he relieved them of. The charts on the left show the performance of a range of portfolios managed for clients by Robert Skepper and his team during this period. Property advice We are very fortunate to have the services of Richard Leatham, a residential and estate property specialist, who cut his teeth working for Knight Frank for a decade before becoming an independent property advisor. Richard, who was brought up at Burghley House, arguably the most famous country House in England, has an unsurpassed knowledge of the country house and estate market. In recent years he has also specialised in London property, where worldwide interest remains very strong. London has now become the premier residential city in the world. Equine advice TBC
