The program is open statewide to high school students who will enter 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the Fall. There is no cost for students selected to participate in this conference. Transportation will be provided to students traveling from the Kansas City, Saint Louis, and Bootheel regions. Completed applications must be submitted by May 6, 2015 to be considered. This three day experience is designed to give students a better understanding of the legislative structure, public policy, community issues, and the decision making process through hands-on activities. Click Here for more info or to Apply YVC - Summer of Service June 8th - July 30th Cost: $40 per/week YVCKC's Summer Volunteer Program is an 8-week intensive program for youth ages 11 to 18 to serve their communities in groups of 10-20. Each project lasts four days: Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Youth serve for one week (or more if they choose) at projects all over the community. Each project is supervised by a background checked Team Leader. Team Leaders build group unity through strategic activities, teach new skills through service work, and provide reflective service learning. Each week of service costs $40 per youth.
