Arts and Crafts 2015
Rules and Regulations
1. Entries must be made entirely by the entering artist (with the exception of kit materials, poured ceramic
form, etc.) during the current year (November 2014-November 2015).
2. Entry form must be postmarked no later than October 24, 2015 (if you wish, you may turn in your registry
forms to one of the committee members at J-Day U or the Halloween Dance).
3. Separate entry forms must be filled out for each piece being entered.
4. For Fabric Arts – clothing construction pieces, the artist must select and construct the garment by herself.
Teacher/parent may advise not participate in the completion process.
5. Entry pieces need to be brought and checked in November 14th between 4:30 p.m. and the start of the
Performing Arts Competition at 7:00 PM.
6. Pieces will be judged on November 14th beginning at the start of the Performing Arts competition. The
decision of the judges will be final. Judges will be looking for, but are not limited to the following:
a. Design/creativity/originality – is the subject or idea original/creative or treated in an
original/creative, innovative manner.
b. Use of Technique/craftsmanship – technique/media was used effectively.
c. Interest/art – does it affect you as a work of art, hold your interest
d. Finishing – work appears completed.
e. Presentation – how is it presented, does it need a frame, polishing, etc.
For Scrapbooks:
a. Creativity/originality – is the subject or idea original/creative or treated in an original/creative,
innovative manner.
b. Neatness – is it clean and neat, readable, etc.
c. Layout/design – balance, focus, and journaling.
d. Presentation – how does it look overall?
e. Interest/appeal – does it engage the viewer.
7. Entries may be viewed after the Performing Arts Competition. Girls will be able to vote for their favorite
piece at this time. These votes will be tallied for the “Girls Choice” Award.
8. Items will need to be picked up by the designated person after the “Girls Choice” voting (approx. 30
minutes after the Performing Arts has ended) ALL ENTRIES NEED TO BE TAKEN HOME THAT NIGHT.
Arts and Crafts Competition 2015
Hello to all Utah Job’s Daughters!
It is time for the annual Arts and Crafts Competition! Once again, it will be held along with the
Performing Arts Competition and Talent Show on November 14, 2015.
Daughters and Jobies-2-Bee, we encourage you to enter your creative pieces – from drawings to
jewelry, from scrapbooks to evening wear – anything you have made between November 2014-2015
The entry form, categories, and rules are attached; please pay close attention to the categories, entry
forms need to be POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN October 24, 2015. (They may also be hand delivered
to a committee member at J-Day U or the Halloween Dance the evening of October 24th).
 Entries will need to be checked in starting at 4:30 p.m. through the start of the Performing Arts
Competition.
 All Judging with the exception of the “Girls Choice” will be done during the Performing Arts
Competition.
 Viewing of all entries and the “Girls Choice” voting will be held for 30 minutes after Performing
Arts have ended.
 You may pick up your arts and crafts after the “Girls Choice” voting has ended. If the entry is
picked up before this time, you will not be eligible for “Girls Choice” award.
 All entries need to be checked in and checked out by the same person unless stated at check in
time.
 Awards will be given out at the 2016 Rally.
Every one of last year’s entries was fabulous! We are looking forward to seeing what you will dazzle
everyone with this year!
