Duties and Responsibilities
Undertake analysis and research on a range of issues and provide analytical
support for research projects within the Research and Accreditation Department
and in other department as needed
Construct complex statistical models aimed at determining predictors of DCAS
performance and patient outcomes
Prepare and disseminate standard organizational and research performance reports
(internally and externally)
Make a significant contribution to the advancement of pre-hospital research at the
national and international level
Develop data reports to assist in the monitoring of DCAS performance, using data
from the DCAS data management unit(electronic patient care report) or other
relevant sources
Prepare management reports which clearly articulate the results of data analysis
and identify key performance issues
Refine performance benchmarks through sourcing relevant comparative data from
other organizations to assist identification of areas requiring performance








improvement and the development of strategies for improvement
Identify areas of potential growth and priority in pre-hospital research
Provide leadership in research, including bio-statistical advice, input of study
design, methodology and research training.
As required, prepare competitive grant applications and ethics proposals and
amendments
Publish research results in peer reviewed research journals
Promote and contribute to the advancement of pre-hospital research within the
broader health sector research community both nationally and internationally
Assist in strengthening relationships and establishing partnerships with external
research bodies and researchers
Provide advice and guidance to other DCAS staff involved in clinical research
activities
Liaise across all divisions and externally to ensure all aspects of a research project
are considered
