Job Title: Project Manager for Brompton Cemetery
Location: Brompton Cemetery,
Grade and Salary: III (Exec) £32,430 - £39,191
The post holder will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends for which time off in lieu or
overtime will be arranged, subject to line management agreement.
Relationship:
The post holder is responsible to the Project Sponsor for the Brompton Cemetery Conservation Project
and will be a member of the Programmes and Projects team.
Important Functional Relationships:
Members of the Brompton Cemetery Conservation Project Board, Director of Parks, Head of Parks
Services, Royal Parks managers, Cemetery Manager, members of the Parks Services team, contractors
and consultants.
Main Purpose of the Post:
Project Management and a range of other functions in support of the delivery of the Brompton Cemetery
Conservation Project.
Job Description:
This is a fixed term position funded through a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and the Big
Lottery Fund (BIG) for the Parks for People (PfP) delivery of the Brompton Cemetery Conservation
Project.
The successful candidate will project manage the delivery phase of the project, should the Round 2
funding bid be successful, and help undertake the necessary work to meet the contractual obligations The
Royal Parks (TRP) has with the Heritage Lottery Fund, alongside its own project management procedures
and protocols.
Lottery Fund – Management of Grant procedures
 Management and delivery of the PfP Lottery Delivery Grant for Brompton Cemetery and
ensuring compliance with grant conditions.
 To prepare and collate all supporting material/ information necessary for each progress and final
funding submission.
 Providing timely responses to HLF requests for information or action
Project Team Management
 Support the management of the Lead Consultant, multidisciplinary Design Team and consultation
consultancy in accordance with HLF and TRP procedures
 Coordinate the preparation of tender and procurement documentation in conjunction with Royal
Parks teams including Procurement and Park Management teams.
 Project management of the Brompton Cemetery Conservation Project in accordance with TRP
project management protocols (PRINCE2 based)
 Undertake the day-to-day on site management of the delivery stage of the project working with
design teams, consultants and contractors.
 Liaise, co-ordinate and monitor the work of consultants and contractors. To undertake checks
on site and help coordinate and monitor activities on site including community engagement
activities and the work of volunteers.
 Make sure the Project Board, Project Team meetings, Lottery Progress meetings, Workshops,
and stakeholder engagement meetings are arranged, serviced, and documented (Agendas,
minutes, action logs & updates; discussion papers)
 Monitoring the progress of the project against the master programme
 Convene, attend and minute budget monitoring, claim and project meetings

Work with The Royal Parks’ Finance Team and Quantity Surveyor to process claims for payment
Prepare regular project monitoring reports and Lottery evaluation reports/spreadsheets
Make key decisions within your delegated authority and undertake necessary negotiations in
order to resolve any conflicting issues
Preparing and presenting reports to relevant meetings and TRP Executive Committee as required
Co-ordinate publicity and fundraising through the TRP’s Marketing and Communication Team in
partnership with the Royal Parks’ Foundation
Apply risk management principles to the delivery of the project, maintaining risk and issue logs
Stakeholder Engagement Management
 Work closely with the Partnership and Community Engagement (PACE) officer to programme
and run engagement meetings and activities, making sure that they are co-ordinated with the
master programme.
 Work closely with the PACE officer to ensure that all documentation necessary for the second
stage delivery phase application to HLF is prepared on time.
 Support the Park Management Team with development of the business plan.
Royal Parks Policies and Procedures
 Assist with financial analysis in conjunction with The Royal Parks’ finance team.
 Incorporate into the future services The Royal Parks biodiversity and sustainability initiatives, the
apprenticeship scheme and Green Flag and other applicable park related programmes. This will
include the production of necessary documentation.
 Be aware of your responsibilities as described in the Health & Safety Manual and summarised in
the Health & Safety Handbook and in particular to implement the policy in your area of
responsibility.
 Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations by all staff, contractors and volunteers
working in the cemetery.
 Comply with all Royal Parks’ policies including health and safety, diversity & equality, information
