Types of Awards/Programs

Students

Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program

Funds are available for U.S. faculty to become and international scholar in over 140 countries. Scholars will receive a monthly stipend, basic medical insurance, a settling-in allowance, and a professional allowance for travel, books and other expenses.

Faculty/Staff

Fulbright Flex Awards

The Flex Awards have been created for scholars who are unable to spend an extended amount of time abroad. Instead, applicants propose multiple stays of one to three months in the host country over a period of two to three years. The total time in the host country should equal one semester. In addition to their primary research or teaching activities, flex award scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and engage with the host-country academic community.

Fulbright International Education Administrators Program

U.S. international education administrators can apply for 2-3 week summer seminars in select countries.

(Germany, Japan, or Korea). The seminars are designed to introduce participants to various cultures and higher education systems through campus visits, meetings with foreign scholars, and government officials.

Fulbright New Century Scholars

Each year 25-30 research scholars and professionals from the U.S. and abroad will be selected as NCS

Fellows through an open competition. Under the leadership of an appointed Distinguished Scholar

Leader, NCS Fellows engage in multidisciplinary collaboration on a topic of global significance and universal concern. Topics will change each year.

Fulbright Senior Specialists Program

Curriculum and faculty development is an essential component for success within the academic system.

The Senior Specialists Program allows professionals and scholars to create programs through collaboration. The program awards grants ranging from two to six weeks. Can be in any country worldwide which has U.S. Embassy or Fulbright Commission Office.

Fulbright Canada's undergraduate exchange program, Killam Fellowships Program

The Killam Fellowships Program offers American undergraduate students the opportunity to spend one semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in Canada. Student will receive $5,000 per semester, and health insurance for the duration of the exchange. The program also includes a three-day seminar in Ottawa (Canada's capital) and Washington, DC. Additional funding to explore other parts of

Canada may be available (application deadline is January 31st.)

Fulbright Student Scholarship

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers opportunities for recent graduates, postgraduate candidates, and developing professionals and artists to conduct careerlaunching study and research abroad.

Faculty/Staff

Visiting Fulbright Scholar Programs/Scholar-in-Residence Program

Individual Fulbright grants are available for overseas scholars to conduct research or pursue combined lecturing and research in the U.S. under the Visiting Fulbright Scholar Program. Deadlines vary for each country. Grants range from two months to an academic year.

Occasional Lecturer Program

Funds may be available for any of the Visiting Fulbright Scholars to travel to campuses and local communities for short-term guest lectures. The scholars' round-trip travel costs will be covered by the

Fulbright Program. The institution issuing the invitation is asked to pay for local transportation, accommodations and meals, or offer an honorarium. There is no deadline
