SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS ROLE PROFILE TITLE : Health Information Manager, Ebola Emergency Response Team TEAM/PROGRAMME: Health LOCATION: Freetown GRADE: TBC CONTRACT LENGTH: TBC CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. ROLE PURPOSE: The Health Information Manager is responsible for the design and application of the health information system for the Ebola programme under the overall management of the Health Adviser. The Health Information Manager generates timely data and reports on programme performance and quality of patient care and assists with analysis and interpretation of data. SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: Medical Team Leader, Ebola Emergency Response Team Staff directly reporting to this post: Health information officer (national) KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Set up health information systems (HIS) for Ebola-specific programmes to ensure data gathered are timely and accurate. Recruit and train national health information officer(s) Responsible for production of accurate, timely health statistics based on the Ebola treatment centre and outreach data. Ensure the smooth running of the HIS system following the HIS SOP’s to deliver the data output and reporting as needed for the HIS outputs Together with the Medical Team Leader, analyses weekly data that needs to be sent to Health Backstop in Headquarters. Ability to motivate and support team in stressful situations. Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills to different audiences Understanding of confidentiality and data protection guidelines Desirable Previous experience of working in a hospital isolation unit, strong understanding of infection control risks.
