SPLITZ Gymnastics Extreme Team!
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Splitz Gymnastics is very excited to invite you to our 7
th
year of the Extreme
Team. This program was created for girls who have mastered basic gymnastic
skills, have a positive attitude and a love for the sport of gymnastics. The
Extreme Team expands the opportunities for recreational athletes by providing a
chance to be part of a team, learn and master routines and have the chance to
perform. Extreme Team promotes a creative environment that does not follow
traditional competitive gymnastics. This unique program combines individual and
group training, and provides a performance opportunity in a meet-type setting for
recreational athletes of all abilities. Class time is spent on mastering complex
gymnastics skills, learning and perfecting individual routines and performing
group routines.

COMMITMENT
As this program is more involved than other recreational programs, a 10-month
commitment is required. Classes begin September 5th and run until the end of
June. One month’s written notice is required to withdraw from the program midseason.

MISSED CLASSSES
If you miss more than 2 weeks of classes due to an illness or injury, Splitz will put
a hold on your payments. Please inform the office in writing with a doctor’s note
as soon as possible and your monthly charges will cease until your child’s
training begins again.
As this program is the only one of its kind at Splitz, we are unable to offer make
up classes. Splitz closed for all statutory holidays.

An annual registration and insurance fee of $50 is required to enroll your child as
an interclub athlete with Gymnastics BC for the year.
UNIFORM
All Extreme Team athletes are required to purchase a team body suit and
tracksuit. This uniform is mandatory for all special events. The 2012 prices were
as follows:
 Splitz Body Suit: $80.00
 Splitz Tracksuit: $105.00
2013 prices are expected to be very similar. Final prices will be confirmed when
our order has been placed.
Consignment program: following the end of the season Splitz will buy-back any
bodysuit or tracksuit in good condition for 50% of initial cost. These uniforms will
be available to new members for a reduced rate. The purpose of this program is
to try to reduce costs for families in the Extreme Team; Splitz will not make any
profit from this program.
A small contribution and a few volunteers may be needed for costumes for
Gymnaestrada. Details will be available closer to the event.

MEETS & SPECIAL EVENTS
Special events for the Extreme Team consist of the following:
Interclub meets: These are positive and fun events in which the gymnasts
perform routines in an event setting. In a non-competitive setting, gymnasts’
routines are evaluated and rewards are received. These events typically have a
registration fee of $60-$80 per gymnast.
Gymnaestrada: Gymnastics BC annually hosts a full day event that includes a
variety of performances, games, sport activities and workshops. The
Gymnaestrada finale includes group performances from clubs all over BC and a
mass participation routine with hundreds of athletes.
Gymnaestrada's main focus is on mass participation in gymnastics. The goals of
Gymnaestrada are to promote and encourage the growth of Gymnastics for all,
inspire and encourage joy in exercise and to demonstrate the development of the
participants. This event typically has a registration fee of $60-$80 per gymnast.
Parades and community displays or events: The extreme team participates in
community events such as the Cloverdale Rodeo Parade, Canada Day
celebrations, and SPLITZ annual open house. These events are all FREE.
Year End Show: As a wrap up for our Fall and Spring sessions the Extreme
Team will put on a finale to highlight the progress of our gymnasts. There is no
cost for this event.
Athletes are not required to attend every event, however it is expected that
gymnasts will participate in Gymnaestrada, at least 2 interclub meets and our
Year End Show.
Once the 2012-2013 Extreme Team events have been confirmed each family will
receive an Event Calendar. Splitz will notify all families of the registration details
of upcoming events as we receive them. To ensure your daughters participation
in these events it is important to pay close attention to registration deadlines.
Our 7
th
Season of the Extreme Team will be SplitzTastic! With growth to the
program, separated age groups and some exciting changes to the curriculum we
expect the best year yet!
