Deadline November 30, 2015, 5:00 p.m. M.Ed.-SECONDARY EDUCATION MAJORS TUITION WAIVER Department of Educational Sciences, Foundations & Research University of Central Oklahoma Tuition Waivers are for tuition and general fees ONLY. The tuition waiver is now available through the Department of Educational Sciences, Foundations & Research for students who meet the criteria described as follows. Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must… 1. be an Oklahoma resident currently paying in-state tuition. 2. have been admitted to the graduate program and have a declared major in M.Ed.Secondary Education. 3. be enrolled in a minimum of six semester hours of courses related to the M.Ed.Secondary Education plan of study during the semester for which the tuition waiver will be applied. 4. have an overall 3.5 graduate GPA on a four-point scale and completed 6 hours of graduate credit. 5. have demonstrated some achievements or accomplishments in relationship to the area of secondary education. 6. have a financial need for help in covering the tuition costs. This tuition waiver can only be applied to the tuition and general fees balance after all other tuition waivers have been applied. 7. comply with the rules and regulations of the University of Central Oklahoma and cooperate fully with its officials. Deadline for Applications: The tuition waiver application, achievement statement, and financial need statement must be RECEIVED electronically, be mailed, or handdelivered by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015. Official transcripts must be mailed or hand-delivered to Ms. Morton’s office in the Center for Transformative Learning, by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015. Tuition waiver fund use: In-state tuition General Enrollment Fees for on-campus UCO courses only. The tuition waiver cannot be applied to university fees such as assessment fees, special instructional fees, facility fees, library fees, student activity fees, enrollment services fees, parking fees, student ID fee, technology fees, nor to correspondence, downtown consortium, distance learning, or off-campus courses. 4. If a student will be granted other tuition waivers that will cover all or part of the student's tuition for the same academic semester(s), then that student may only be granted this tuition waiver in an amount to cover some, and possibly all, of the student’s remaining General Tuition Fees. 5. The tuition waivers granted will be awarded on a competitive basis between those who apply, and the awards will be determined by the M.Ed.-Secondary Education Tuition Waiver Committee, a committee comprised of a minimum of three faculty members from the Department of Educational Sciences, Foundations and Research. The decisions of the M.Ed.-Secondary Education Tuition Waiver Committee are final. Only those who meet all qualifications for the tuition waiver should apply. Incomplete application packets and materials submitted after the deadline will be disqualified immediately.
