QUT Copyright Compliance Table When you upload the final version of your thesis for inclusion in QUT ePrints, you will be required to declare whether or not the thesis includes copyright material (material created by other people). If you declare that it does contain copyright material, you will be required to upload a file which provides evidence that you have obtained the permission of the copyright owner(s) to include the material in the version of your thesis that is made publicly available online. If your thesis contains only single item of copyright material, you can simply upload a scanned image of the permission letter. However, if your thesis includes multiple instances of copyright material, then you may wish to use this Copyright Compliance Table to record details of the copyright material and related permission requests. Add or remove table rows as necessary. Before you submit the final version of your thesis, please scan all the permission letters (received from copyright owners) and the completed table into a single document. Upload this file as the permission ‘evidence’ document. If any permissions are still outstanding by the time you submit the final version of your thesis, then the copyright material will need to be ‘hidden’ from view in the version of your thesis that is made publicly available online. This is why it is important to supply page numbers and details of the copyright material. Note: where an abridged version needs to be created for online dissemination, an intact version of the thesis will be stored in a digital archive as the ‘version of record’. Ideally, the process of creating an abridged version of the thesis will involve the thesis author. This is why it is important to provide a contact email address when depositing the thesis. For more information about when permissions are needed, please refer to the “Copyright guidelines for research higher degree candidates for submission of theses to QUT ePrints” http://www.library.qut.edu.au/services/adt.jsp#search QUT Copyright Compliance Table Name Title of thesis Page Copyrighted material (of (describe) thesis) Amount in relation to the whole of the work?
