Important Tenant Information. Please read carefully! Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, this letter is to inform you about the planned introduction of organic waste collection in Oberursel. German law states that biowaste has to be collected separately from 1 January 2015 due to the protection of natural resources. Therefore, organic waste bins will be placed in November on the trash cans stands. These special waste bins should be used to collect all your organic waste (eg food craps, spoiled food, old flowers, etc.). From these waste biogas and compost will be generated. Our goal ist to preserve dwindling energy reserves and to reduce environmental impacts. The emptying of the bins by the BSO starts in January 2015. Please do not fill the organic waste bins before, because until then no flush occurs. The regular emptying is then every 14 days, residual waste containers are then also only emptied every two weeks. In December you will receive the „Abfallratgeber 2015“ (= Oberursel waste advisor) by mail. In this you will find a coupon for the „Starter Package“, which you can redeem at the City Hall or at the Urban Recycling Area (Oberurseler Str. 54) either. This package includes, among other things, a small kitchen garbage container in which you collect your organic waste (please don’t use plastic bags!) and then can bring as needed to the compost bin. Please make sure that all organic waste is thrown into the compost bin. Only then is it possible to keep the waste disposal costs. Poor sorting will lead to higher waste charges for you. It’s your decision! For inquiries on this subject please feel free to contact our urban waste consultants under 06171 502-300. What is allowed into the organic waste bin and what not, and other useful information, please refer to the enclosed information leaflet or consult the website of the BSO (Bau & Service Oberursel = urban waste department) under www.bso-oberursel.de.
