Scriptures That Deal with Guilt
Hebrews 9:9-15 Which [was] a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts
and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the
conscience; [Which stood] only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances,
imposed [on them] until the time of reformation. But Christ being come an high priest of good
things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not
of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in
once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us]. For if the blood of bulls
and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the
flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself
without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for
this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of
the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the
promise of eternal inheritance.
James 4:7-17 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify
[your] hearts, [ye] double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned
to mourning, and [your] joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he
shall lift you up. Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of [his] brother,
and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law,
thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to
destroy: who art thou that judgest another? Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will
go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know
not what [shall be] on the morrow. For what [is] your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for
a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye [ought] to say, If the Lord will, we shall live,
and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. Therefore to
him that knoweth to do good, and doeth [it] not, to him it is sin.
Revelation 7:1-17 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the
earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the
sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the
living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the
earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the
servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: [and
there were] sealed an hundred [and] forty [and] four thousand of all the tribes of the children of
Israel. Of the tribe of Juda [were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben [were] sealed
twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad [were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Aser [were]
sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim [were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of
Manasses [were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Simeon [were] sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Levi [were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar [were] sealed twelve
thousand. Of the tribe of Zabulon [were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph [were]
sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin [were] sealed twelve thousand. After this I
beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and
people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and
palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth
upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. And all the angels stood round about the throne, and [about]
the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and
might, [be] unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. And one of the elders answered, saying unto
me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto
him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation,
and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they
before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the
throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall
the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed
them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from
their eyes.
Genesis 3:7-11 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked;
and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the
LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves
from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called
unto Adam, and said unto him, Where [art] thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden,
and I was afraid, because I [was] naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou
[wast] naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
Matthew 27:23-26 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the
more, saying, Let him be crucified. When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but [that]
rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed [his] hands before the multitude, saying, I
am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye [to it]. Then answered all the people, and
said, His blood [be] on us, and on our children. Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when
he had scourged Jesus, he delivered [him] to be crucified.
Romans 3:9-12 What then? are we better [than they]? No, in no wise: for we have before proved
both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; As it is written, There is none righteous, no,
not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone
out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
1st Timothy 1:12-17 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he
counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a
persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did [it] ignorantly in unbelief. And the
grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This [is]
a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save
sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus
Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on
him to life everlasting. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, [be]
honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
