Guidelines for Writing the Biography
The bio is intended to highlight the debutante/beau throughout their
lives with more emphasis being placed on their high school years.
We encourage you to include the following information:
-birthplace and birthdate
-schools attended
-school activities, honors, awards, memberships etc.
-church membership
-church involvement and activities
-community service involvement
-employment and hobbies
-college and career choices
The bio must be:
- written in the third person (using words such as she/he, her/him) rather than first
person (using words such as I, me, we, etc.)
-approximately 450 words long
-complete with participant’s full name, parents’ and sponsor’s first and last names
(include titles such as Mr., Mrs., Dr., Pastor etc.)
