Subject: Orientation Information Part I Welcome and Important Information on Enrollment in UT-SPH (1st in a series) Congratulations on being admitted to the UT School of Public Health! We are excited to welcome you as a member of the entering class of Spring, 2012. In the coming weeks, you will receive a series of emails containing important information to prepare you for registering and enrollment this fall. Completion of these steps will enable you the best possible enrollment process. Be sure to update your email and address with the Registrar’s Office if they change. Confirm Your Attendance: If your plans to enroll for the Spring 2012, have changed, please inform the Student Affairs Office by updating the Admission Response Form at: https://sphuth.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_b9jDMRbi5BvjliI. If you wish to defer your enrollment to a later date, you may make that request by contacting Dr. Mary Ann Smith, Associate Dean for Student Affairs at Mary.A.Smith@uth.tmc.edu. New Student Orientation on January 4 - 5, 2012. Attendance on the 4th is MANDATORY for all degree-seeking students. Additionally, International Students are required to attend both days. More details will be provided soon. Course registration is contingent upon attendance at Orientation. As a new student, you will be asked to identify yourself with your personal student identification number, known as your A number. It is used to log in to UT Link, to register, and for various identification purposes. If you have never been on UTLINK, your default PIN is set as the last two digits of the year you were born and the two digit month you were born. For example, July 1980 would be entered as 8007. You will be required to change your PIN the first time you log in to UTLINK and at various times throughout the year. To prepare you for the course registration portion of orientation, we strongly recommend student view this presentation prior to orientation. The workshops will be offered during the first 2 weeks of classes. Houston sessions will be limited to 20 participants per session. Students are required to be registered for classes prior to attending the workshop since a valid UTSPH ID and password are needed to login on the terminals in the computer classroom. The same login information will also be used to access the UTSPH online learning tool Blackboard (Bb) during the workshop. Following registration and prior to attending the workshop, please check your UT webmail account at https://webmail.uth.tmc.edu/ and also your Bb account at https://bb.uth.tmc.edu/index3.html for access.
