The meeting included a facilitated discussion, lunch and learn and prioritizing exercise. A draft plan was reviewed with the board in May, with a final plan approved by the board in June to present to the membership at the 2015 annual meeting. The approved plan will guide the association’s work and budgeting over the planning period (immediate through the end of 2017). The plan will be regularly reviewed during board meetings, with staff reporting on progress between meetings via the association’s dashboard. Mission To strengthen and improve public health governance. Vision Boards of health are: Appointed as a result of a well-informed selection process. Comprised of individuals who have demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively represent and serve. Well-connected to other stakeholders in public health and government. Effectively and competently serving the public health needs of their community in accordance with the core functions and essential public health services. Aware of NALBOH’s resources and actively engaged in its success.
