Training
Upcoming Training Dates:
 Taft: November 28- 30, 2011> Social Skillstreaming & Gathering
 Mt.View: December 5- 7, 2011> ACT/Moral Reasoning
 WHS: ACT/Moral Reasoning> proposed January 31-February 3, 2012 (waiting on
confirmation)
 Wilder: Need to schedule ACT/Moral Reasoning- looking in January 2012
 Work with training coordinators to schedule training events
-Once your list has reached 10-15 people please contact Tina and Paige to begin
coordination of the training- new people or any refresher people you want to add into
the group
-Don’t let it build up more than 15- if you need to put new in with old- that is okay
II. Monitoring
 Internal Monitoring- in January, 2012 facilities will be held accountable for
documentation of internal monitoring that is taking place for ART Facilitators once every
4 months in all 3 components.
 Who will be the contact person at each YDC in regards to needed information for
internal monitoring?
 Mt. View- Venecia Churchman
 Taft- David Maynard
 Wilder- Paige will contact Layne Burrows
 WHS- Paige will confirm with facility
 Youth Surveys- next round to be completed and sent to Sissie @ UTK – end of
December, 2011- Beginning of January, 2012, by ALL facilities
 HIT- Please continue at Intake & Discharge sending to Sissie @ UTK & please contact
Sissie for additional packets when needed
 Thank YOU so much for all your hard work regarding Tracking and Dosage forms, HIT,
Youth Surveys- SIssie is so appreciative of the great work facilities have done in
completing all these items correctly and getting them turned in. Thank you for your
willingness to work with her to keep this moving forward.
 External Monitoring
Being continued in West and Middle- Paige and Twana coordinating these events
East TN- Formal Monitoring will being in January 2012- East TN ART Specialist are
working now in planning these efforts and Tina will be contacting you in regards to this
soon to give you an update and work this out.
 Paige inquired of any questions, need for clarification regarding Internal or External
monitoring- none were reported at this opportunity
III. Social Skillstreaming Facility Calendar
 Please create and complete a 6 -12 month Social Skills calendar for your facilityDeadline to send to Paige/ Twana is January 2, 2012
IV. Questions/ comments/ what’s going on at your facility/ where is supported needed
Facilities reported that there were no questions or need for clarification at this time.
Paige inquired how the process of beginning Internal monitoring was going. Mt. View
reported that the process had gone well.
 Churchman voiced some concern regarding the form- “cumbersome” Asked all
facilities to make note of any questions/ concerns/ comments regarding the formsthis could be reviewed to determine if there is a need for form revision on down the
road by the ART Evaluation Team.
 Taft was asked to send list of Lead Champions to Tina Mosley
 Character Trait Recognition Certificates- attached is a complete set with the 3 new
traits of Empathy, Conscience, and Morality. New Cards for aesthetics and use are in
process and will be sent out upon completion
Please identify 1 Lead Champion to go around the facility and ensure that this
complete set of Certificates is available for use in all Gatherings. Please also make sure
that all facilitators of the Gathering and ART Groups are aware of the new traits and
begin to use them in conversation and recognition.
V. New ART Team Members coming on board (Tina)
Tina took opportunity to discuss new ART Specialist team members to the East. New Team
Members will be at both upcoming trainings at Taft and Mt. View
Julie Deboard of UTK- took time to introduce herself to group.
Liz Beach and Janel Seeley of ETSU
NO MEETING in December, 2011. Next meeting will be Thursday, January 19, 2012 @ 1pm Central
via JJ Conference line- Paige will send out invite/ information.
December- Paige will send out memo/ email with information and reminders to all Lead
Champions!
