Richardson Building - Emergency Preparedness DUTIES: August 24, 2015 Under the direction of the District Epidemiologist and Emergency Preparedness leadership, responsible for working with Healthcare Preparedness Coalitions to ensure their awareness level and knowledge of plans, policies and procedures relating to local EVD Response; assisting local Healthcare Preparedness Coalition leads with implementing applicable EVD SOPs’, Plan Annexes, and Policies; coordinating the development of the Local Disease Exposure Control Plans to ensure consistent control of EVD Spread within the local public health districts are under the guidance of the district epidemiologist; assisting with the development of Local Communicable Disease Response Plans to ensure health districts can respond to and recover from suspect EVD patients presenting at Georgia’s air and sea ports of entry under the guidance of the district epidemiologist; coordinating and supporting prevention/preparedness/mitigation planning among community partners, including, but not limited to: emergency management, law enforcement, fire department, public works, and supporting community partners, including the development of the DeKalb “PH Talks” program to reach out to local providers to explain notifiable disease reporting; and conducting active monitoring of travelers returning from Ebola-affected countries through the creation of records, contacting travelers to initiate monitoring, and fllowing up with noncompliant travelers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field AND Four years of experience in management of administrative support activities of a business or government activity. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants with a Master’s degree in Public Health and who possess three (3) or more of the following: Experience or familiarity with principles of infectious diseases. Significant experience in epidemiology and emergency preparedness and response. Experience in outbreak investigation, exercise development, training delivery and ICS Training. Working in Public Health, Local, State, or Federal Government and experience writing operational plans.
