1. Capstone Big Idea:
Heritage are features belonging to the culture of a particular society , such as traditions ,
languages, buildings, great national economical projects which exist from the past and still
have historical, economical and cultural importance. Keeping this heritage and developing it
to continuously convey its main message is our responsibility and our main challenge as
Egyptian citizens.
Summary
Development and modernization of the valuable places used to keep the Egyptian heritage is
the main goal of RILS STEAM capstone introduced by students enrolled in grades 10, 11 and
12.The aim of this development is to reflect a clear and attractive image about the university
of the Egyptian civilization, making them places for sustainable development and a source of
national pride.

Subject Matter Unit Goals:
Develop subject matter goals for each unit and end product
Add the learning goals from the curriculum maps that are connected to
our project.
I put an example from the Bridge project in Dr. Zweil school to guide
you while you are writing your goals. Remember a goal is general and
don't include the content only.
The bridge Example(1)
English Language Arts: Students will be studying the elements of reading and writing
through drama. Students will read and understand romeo and Juliet. Students will write one
act plays. Students will write scenes from different time periods.
Students will understand that love can be the bridge between enemies. Students will explore
the role of fate, the effects of hate, and the many facets of love. Students will employ
strategies to analyze plot in literature. Students will demonstrate their understanding of text on
four levels: factual, interpretive, critical and personal.
Math Goals: Students will understand structure and stability as it is related to bridges through
a study of Trigonometry, Angles, Tresses, Geometric Strength. Students will also explore the
deep level mathematics involved in Writing Formula/Functions, Developing formulas, and TI
programming, and how it is related to real world usage. Students will learn how to plan,
design, calculate, and construct a model of a bridge. Find out how mathematical concepts of
ratio, proportion, and scale are implemented in the bridge building process.
Physics Goals: Students will use force and thermal analyses to determine the soundness of
a structure. Students will learn how to use TI-84 calculators to program simple
functions. Students will analyze the linear motion of objects on the bridge and in other
situations.
Engineering Goals: Students will create a bridge that can support weight, using the
engineering design process. Students will be able to understand structural multipliers,
strength, and stress and how it relates to load bearing design.Student groups of engineers will
design and construct a bridge that will hold the most weight for a given span. Students will
build different structures; investigate properties of triangles and rectangles; take a bridge field
trip to learn about various types of bridges and examine famous bridges from around the
world; and conduct several design and strength tests.
Social Studies Goals:Students will explore the real and metaphorical effects of bridges.
Students know the chronology and location of major events in the civil rights movement.
Students know the significant people associated with the movement and their philosophies.
Students are able to create a piece of writing and photojournal communicates the intricacies
of mixed-raced relationships in the context of American history.
RILS
Art Goals: Students will explore Art: Form/Function, Symbolism, Design, Scale, Modeling,
and landscape through the creation of a digital photography portfolio. Students will develop
skills through exploring the concept of “Bridges.” “How do we define the word bridge? Is it a
structure? A location? The relationship of the people close to us? Bridges can be both a
physical and a psychological place filled with the complexities of relationships, identity, and
culture.
Building Example (2)
Subject Matter Unit Goals:
Biology: Students will explore the requirements for the plant life sustainability and
control the factors. They will also explore the compatibility between the structure and
function in the body of the living organism.
Chemistry: students will able to make a properties comparison between matters,
as it answers questions like, "What kind of stuff is a sample made of? What does the
sample look like on a molecular scale? How does the structure of the material
determine its properties? How do the properties of the material change when we
increase temperature, or pressure, or some other environmental variable?"
Physics:
Students will be able to make use of the physics applications in building
as
(electric transformer, electric generator, microphone, loud speaker and
metals detector)
English Language Arts: Students will study the elements of reading and writing
through short story. Learners will read and understand short story (Gulliver's travels).
Learners will write three main themes. Learners will write a timeline for the incidents
of the story.
RILS
Math Goals: students will explore the mathematical faculties and engineering
components needed to maximize the reliability of a building structure, while gaining
an understanding of force and thermal analyses to determine the resultant
of forces.
Students will be able to make equivalent of three forces acting at a point .
Students will be able to use knowledge of polygons to design a truss build .
‘’’Students will be able to write algebraic expressions involving one operations, and
program those formulas into a calculator and find the limit of different real functions .
Students will be able to write and use function rules to solve any triangle.
Students will be able to write and use function rules and graphs the different
functions.
Electronics Goals:The student learns how to search the electronic project sites And how it
compares between the circles with a single goal Nasp and choose to implement the goal
Learn to read and written on the elements to see the values or the terminals of the element mail and polar Learn to use the device with the measurement and testing - device Atelno.a
Drawing on the theoretical understanding of the Department of Electronic and how to read
symbols for electronic components Acquire the skill to convert circle drawn on the practical
implementation of the test rose and then acquire the skill of using caustic solder with each
item to install the fiber Board Learn how to test the electronic circuit.
computer Goals: students will know how to plane to a network? , how to make a
simple network?.,how to configure a network?
Now you can develop your own goals
