Eligibility




Westchester residents, 18 years old or older, may enter.
Only original work, not older than three years will be accepted.
Copies and work done under instruction or in classroom are NOT eligible.
Last year’s Blue Ribbon winners are eligible to enter the show’s finale in July 2015 along with
this year’s Blue Ribbon winners. If they choose to enter their artwork in the same category that
they won in last year, that artwork will be marked, “Not in Competition.” After a year they may
return to the same category. Last year’s winners are strongly encouraged to enter new categories
this year.
Requirements






Entries must be submitted on Monday, October 20th between 4 – 8 p.m. at the Woman’s Club of
White Plains.
Artists may submit up to three works (two in one category and one in another – or – one in each of
three categories). Three works submitted in one category will not be accepted.
An entry fee of $10 for each piece of artwork must be paid by check or cash on the 20th.
The attached application form must also be completed and submitted on the 20th.
Artists must agree that their entries will remain until the end of the reception on October 23 rd. The
artwork will be handled with all possible care, however, the Woman’s Club of White Plains will not
be responsible for loss or damage to work submitted.
The maximum size of artwork, including frame, is 35” by 45” and all pictures must be wired for
hanging.
Prizes
Art work will be judged by a panel of three judges on Tuesday, October 21st. Ribbons will be presented
to artists at a reception held at the culmination of the Art Show on Thursday, October 23 rd. Last year’s
Blue Ribbon winners, along with this year’s Blue Ribbon winners, are invited to participate in the Beaux
Arts competition finale at the Bronxville Woman’s Club in July of 2015. Because no finale was held this
summer, the finale in 2015 will include Blue Ribbon winners from both competitions.
Please note: If a first prize has been won in a particular category at this show, the artist may NOT
compete in that category in any other Beaux Arts Show except the finale in July. They may enter their
artwork in a different category in other shows.
Sale of Artwork
If an artist wishes to offer her/his artwork for sale, it should be indicated on the application form that is
attached to this flyer. The amount listed should include a 20% commission for the Woman’s Club of
White Plains. For example, if an artist indicates on the application form that he would like to sell a
painting for $200, the artist will receive $160 and the Woman’s Club, $40. The buyer will pay the
Woman’s Club of White Plains Foundation (a 501(c)3 organization) and the Club will send a check to the
artist for the artwork.
